My black lab loves my Scout 145 skiff. Up on plane she’ll just bolt over the side “Eh, I’m too hot, I’m goin in”. She also likes jumping in to ‘help’ retrieve fish I’m bringing up. She throws a temper tantrum when she hears the boat being hooked up to the car outside and she’s not going.
Sad, but its a bad idea to bring two puppies and an even worse idea to attempt to save them. Puppies are not children.
Forget the dogs. Who was the CAPTAIN of this sailing vessel that decided to go out into the Southern Atlantic with gale force wind conditions? The dumba$$ should be held responsible.
Lord what a loss.
Not sarcasm.
A model with 2 dogs, no mention of kids.
....??
You'll never convince most women of this. Pets are their faux children.
Gag. Sounds just like Astrid.
Heres my opinion. (Like butt holes). Those fast catamarans (and all sail boats ifnit was a sailboat) use compound leverage energy from a 15 mph wind to tack and can get up to incredible speeds in a small wind. I used to watch ice boats on a frozen lake near my house go up to 90mph in a 15mph breeze. Truly amazing but the wind in the sailors face is close to the boats speed.
This is just a theory. But I know of what i speak when it comes to boat speeds
The record for an America’s Cup New Zealand boat is 47 Knots/55 mph in 22 knot winds.
So, IMHO this “model” was probably not on a vessel breaking the new sailboat world record when her puppies went overboard. Hey, I could be wrong. :)
More likely the dumba$$ captain went out in conditions he should not have. Maybe he was trying to impress the woman and trying to get laid.
Could be.
That woman spent some serious time in the gym.
Compassionate to a fault. RIP.
The article states 62 mph WINDS. So, I think they went out in conditions that were not exactly ideal.
Thats near hurricane force winds. Nobody but ocean going ships should be out there in those winds.
Yes, near hurricane force.
Gale force to be accurate.
“her two dogs fell off a catamaran as winds reached 62 mph.”
So, why did they venture out onto the ocean in gale force winds?
In a catamaran?
Apparently, they are lucky the thing did not flip.
Sorry, I should of mentioned Muskie are large (up to about 70 lbs) predatory fish. I haven’t seen any that large but I have seen 5 footers in the lake.
Sad. RIP.
