ever wonder why 'factory farming' became an overnight issue?

I get the point of pollution control for farms, but the entire article is about pigs. Yes, pigs. And racist pigs at that.

There are 7.7 billion mouths to feed on earth. Food needs to be produced on a massive scale.

What is the alternative to 'factory farms'? Soylent Green?

Follow the moolah.

Maybe we should all become Muslim and outlaw pigs.

“ever wonder why ‘factory farming’ became an overnight issue? “

A man I knew once worked for a big meat company, I think it was Lykes Brothers. They harvested 12 million chickens per day. Just think where a world of six or seven billion people would be if every chicken was “free range.” Think of where we would be without huge factory farms. Billions of people can not live in the woods in a “self-sustaining” hippy commune. You want an apocalypse? Just legislate away those factory farms.

>>>people of color are 1.5 times as likely to live within three miles of a factory farm<<<

Illegal aliens are 10 times as likely to work at a factory farm

If they were willing to get a biomass digester they could make enough propane to power their own operation and sell the surplus.

Stop feeding people now! We should grow our own food and nothing more. /s

A lot of these farms use the manure to fertilize fields where they grow the food for the animals.

There used to be some hog farms that were two story. Feed hogs corn on the top floor and the hogs below ate the manure from the top floor. FDA changed regulations and made the practice illegal.

Sure they are. They all live in the wide open country, right beside these farms. Uh huh. What is that warm rain on my back?

China is also currently proving how vulnerable backyard hog farms are to disease. African swine fever has probably killed 75 million of its 430 million hogs on farms early last year. A MASSIVE hog and pork shortage is coming over there. “Factory” farms where the hogs are kept isolated and, at least to some extent, more secure than those raised outdoors, are much more efficient and generally better able to deal with epidemic diseases.

That’s it. Ban all farms. Let the sheeple graze in their own backyards.

I can see their point as I live in a farm area, and of all the stinking manure, horse, cow, sewage treatment plant sludge, chicken and hog, the worst is hog manure. Second worst is sour chicken manure, but ALL stink.

You can smell someone spreading manure 5 miles upwind here.

But Man, does the crops grow after manure is spread on them! Some of the hog operations have moved to the High Plains where there is more distance between home owners and more room to spread the stink.

And? What's the problem?

You dump chemicals on your citizens in the skies non stop daily and that doesn't seem to bother you.
