Maybe she could sue (1) her parents, since they are obviously making her to go college without providing her a car (2) the local Planned Parenthood for not working with her schedule (3) the college for not helping her schedule work so she could make the local appointment (4) the sexual partner for making her pregnant (5) must be someone else at fault.
The Uber driver would seem to be a ways down the list for fault, here.
In answer to your question in my experience at least half of Uber drivers are former cab drivers. (Source: am a cab driver)
He should have dropped her off at a theatre playing ‘Unplanned’.
So exactly how many of other irresponsible peoples kids are we to become responsible for?
These agencies wont even place them with people like us. We own firearms for self defense and more. We are devout Christians who will not teach them gay is ok.
The student then recounted her interaction with the Uber driver, who attempted to dissuade the woman from choosing abortion before telling her he could not drive her to the clinic.
According to her, He then said youre going to regret this decision for the rest of your life and that I was making a mistake.
Im sure I will be pilloried for this here
Ive had a number of Girl employees over the decades
A couple of decades ago I had a woman worked for me...an older woman who had nobody really
Anyhow she had a very brief sexual affair I think with another of my employees who was married....I dont think she had much sex
She got pregnant. Unbeknownst to me....though later I did recall she was always drinking tonic water
She was in her 40s and worked fairly close to me since I was owner boss
She decided to have an abortion and of course didnt tell me with all my kids and my rather open disclosure to anyone who listens that Im pro gun pro God pro South and anti abortion...viscerally
Anyhow she got a ride to the clinic....only one in Nashville....about four or five hours later in the evening she called me squalling that she was abandoned at such and such place and she was humiliated and the staff wouldnt help her and so on.and she hates calling me of all people but she had no one else and so on....apparently she had no money with her...she was hysterical basically
She was left outside alone bleeding with her vagina packed with gauze and sobbing out of her head and it was cold .
Anyone can imagine I had to go get her and carry her to her house...my wife who is anti abortion too insisted that this superseded our beliefs
Hell I would have anyhow
She cried the whole time driving home and lamented her salvation and incredibly despondent and so forth
I gave her a week off
We never discussed it....though she wrote my wife about it thanking us
Btw she was a good honest worker who never stole from me
God throws us curves sometimes...
My wife and I once had a full blown AIDS patient with dementia show up on our doorstep..
The most socially right wing people he knew....but he also knew wed take him in even if he knew we abhorred his lifestyle
That driver should have the right to refuse before the fact...carrying someone to an abortion
In dp0622s world apparently you cant oppose any crime unless you offer cradle to grave care for the possible victim.
I oppose spousal abuse. Must I provide all necessities to all women for their natural lives now, or be a hypocrite?
I oppose shoplifting. Must I know provide whatever a shoplifter wants so they dont have to steal?
Utter nonsense.
Murder is never justified. No matter whether we have gigantic social programs (and we do) or NOT.
All the uber drivers I have encountered are normal looking, American looking.
The driver should have offered to take her home, but why should he be required to be an accessory to murder?
DP, I highly recommend that those FReepers who haven’t tried it volunteer for an hour slot in a prayerful witness outide a clinic.
Note, as not a ‘protester’, but as a witness. You would be peacefully witnessing to the dignity and humanity of the unborn child.
You could play a part in transforming someone’s life.
You would also find out why no-one can do it 24/7 :0)
BOO.
The driver has a better case against her for damages than she has against him.
Just blow them up.
/s
That will take the steam out of her lawsuit! BTW, she can't force a doctor to give her an abortion either.
Sounds like the boyfriend just wanted to make sure the deed got done.
One day, if she ever marries and has children, when she sees the ultrasound of her first baby, she’ll wonder why she didn’t listen to the Uber driver.
He stopped the car and told her that he couldn't take her to her destination. She had the choice of either getting out or being taken somewhere she didn't want to go. And according to the woman, I told them everything on a call that was recorded, and the rep mentioned that it appeared the driver had taken a less direct route to get me to my destination prior to dropping me off.
That's strange. I've heard pro abortion advocates use the same talking point.
At the point she called you were showing her compassion in her moment of regret and terror.
She is upset at him because she regrets the choices she made and is lashing out. I get uber no longer keeping him on as a driver but I feel he did the right thing here, he followed his conscience. He did not want to be a party to this act of killing.
