Why are men “afraid” of commitment?
A Voice For Men ^ | April 13, 2019 | John Davis

Posted on 04/18/2019 9:34:05 AM PDT by rickmichaels

When the media “reports” that men are “afraid” of commitment, it’s a continuation of a 50 year trend to mock and disparage men for their reproductive choices.

Men aren’t “afraid” of commitment. When men walk away from “commitment” and marriage, they are making intelligent choices. Fear doesn’t enter into men’s minds when they walk away from women in our “modern” culture.

There was once a time when marriage was an honorable institution. It was not that long ago.

As mankind rose from primitive savagery, to civilizing the world, men were able to bring art, beauty, truth and goodness to the human condition. Marriage was vital to the stability that permitted these advances in humanity.

Marriage was a balanced set of cultural traditions and values in which men and women supported each other, assumed gendered roles that encouraged them to support each other, and, provided a means for men and women to enhance their lives through the synergy of mutual care, respect, responsibility and knowledge for and about each other.

Those days are long gone.

Marriage is no longer an honorable institution. It is simply a device of the neo-Marxist state to exploit men.

Do you think that is an exaggeration?

Let’s ask some straight questions.

What benefits does marriage offer a man?

The answer is that marriage offers nothing to men. At one time, men could enjoy trusting a woman with his love and sexual feelings. Current government regulation, however, has, virtually demonized and criminalized every aspect of men’s feelings and sexuality in, and outside of marriage.

At one time, Men could count on marriages lasting a lifetime. This gave him, his wife and his children stability and the incentive to work together, as a family, for long term benefits and gains.

Now, women file 80% of divorces, within about 8 years of marriage, use the biased and oppressive family courts to strip a man of his children, his life savings, and leave him to twist in the wind without a support network of any kind. Our laws and family court judges are designed to encourage women to get a divorce, alienate the children from their Father’s protection, and, exploit men for the convenience and enrichment of the neo-marxist state . . .

Men are dying from suicide at six times the rate of women in some age categories. We know that one of the reasons is the man-hating (misandry) that saturates our institutions (law, education, military, religion, etc.), and, that the other is that a man loses everything in most marriages. To meet draconian government regulation of marriage, a man must abandon his personal support network of friends, and, when he is divorced, and impressed into the service of the state to pay child support, he no longer has the time or energy to form personal support networks of friends.

Men walk away from marriage and commitment with women out of intellect and common sense choice. “Fear” has nothing to do with it.

My STBX was chatting up skanks while living with me.

He moved out and started dating. His only conquests were:

1. A rider on the crazy train and butt ugly. She stalked him and me until I called the police.

2. A slut that jumped on his lap and started kissing his bald head within the first ten minutes of meeting (idiot when to her house the first time they met).

3. A nurse that walked out of the date after 15 minutes of meeting him.

4. A 400 woman that won’t fit on the Harley or in the Corvette.

Karma arrived.

Actually, it taught me a lot. I became a better judge of character and was harder to scam into making stupid decisions. Guess I learned the hard way, but the lessons have helped me tremendously throughout the rest of my life so far.

I love your story. You know, I do still love hearing about successful second marriages. We will see what Gd brings. I still don’t want to bring another adult into the house with my kids but I know some are wildly happy. Glad it worked out for you!

Good points. The most frustrating aspect of malcontent women is that they only want you to listen to their problems, not help to actually fix them.

Dated a girl who just wanted me to listen to her problems. But I’m a fixer. The more help I offered to fix the issues, the angrier she got.

That was a great bullet to dodge.

I am not afraid. I lack the fear gene. Can prove it. (Taking a gun away from someone who attempted to mug me kind of proved that point.)

But I am also not stupid. The current legal system is almost completely misandrist, esp. in “blue” states, so I chose not to participate.

Note: I have two female friends who have been utter screwed over by scumbag men who are well connected. It’s not all one way.

I am a female and can only guess. I am going to be frank. They are terrified of getting hooked up by marriage to a female who thinks she deserves the moon and nags the guy because he cannot do enough. They may want kids, but they are afraid their kid will be a pawn in divorce and all the guy is going to get is the bill and that is sad, but it also keeps them from starting a life with a new gal who loves them because of dealing with a witch and forever payments for a kid he hardly sees.

One of my sons used to work for a catering company that specialized in these celebrity weddings and birthdays, mostly on the island of Maui, sometimes on Lanai. But the company is on the island of Oahu. That means the day before or very early on the day of the event, they have to ship all the equipment (food serving equipment, entertainment systems, special lights, decorations, centerpieces, etc.) to Maui on the plane. Plus all the staff involved—equipment movers, servers (”eye candy” since you have to be good-looking to get that job), dj. And then depending on the timing of the event, they may have to put all the workers up in a hotel for one or two nights (usually a dump, they of course don’t stay in the nice hotel the wedding party and guests do).

I’m sure just looking at that, and given all the other things you would have to have in addition, those weddings are into the six figures.

Great advice and all Sheryl, but a lot of the good, solid, stable decent men who would make really good husbands do not want a chick who’s run around with all sorts of guys and who is now a “ride hard and put up wet” 35 year old. She has almost nothing to offer them at that point that they would want.

No, our older one I think is past hope of finding someone. Our younger we have been trying to encourage to come to our church which actually has a lot of younger people in their 20s and 30s and maybe he would meet someone there (the church is heavily into evangelizing on high school and college campuses which is great and one reason we go there—not everyone is 80 years old and on life support). Maybe he would be lucky enough to meet a “good Christian girl” there. But as you know, how people act on Sunday mornings and how they act the rest of the week can be totally different, so a guy would have to be quite cautious even there.

I’m a single woman and have no difficulty on my own, that does not mean one cannot enjoy the company of male friends from time to time. I have learned much from male friends who were very helpful in understanding the male single culture, how to guard myself and generally what to avoid. I could not have faired so very well were it not for ‘good men’ who taught me the ropes....for that I will always be grateful.
