American History Museum. The NRA museum.
I was there years ago, when our son was in Walter Reed for a couple years. We went to an aquarium, that was nice. Also if you get out of DC a little bit, there is the Marine Corps Museum (free parking and admission) by Triangle/Quantico.
I used to love the National Cathedral and the grounds, but in good Episcopalian fashion, their self-righteous and pretentious “acceptance” of homosexuality has morphed into constant worship.
Museum of the Bible is there. I haven’t been there yet, but many recommend it.
If you have a vehicle, drive down to Quantico, VA (against traffic in the morning, return against traffic in the afternoon) and go to the National Museum of the Marine Corps. Its Free, and its freakin awesome. https://www.usmcmuseum.com/
If you’re basically stuck downtown, one of my favorites is Ford’s Theatre. Its not free but its great history and the museum there about the attempt to assasinate Linocln is super cool. https://www.fords.org/
If you enjoyed the Air and Space museum, and have vehicle, the Air and Space Museum annex out by Dulles is most excellent with a Space Shuttle and an SR71 Blackbird https://airandspace.si.edu/udvar-hazy-center
The Third Reich had lasers..?
I'm missing something.
LOL! Welcome to "Just About Every Big American City." :)
I went to “The Wall” to visit with old friends long gone...
National Cemetery, Iwo Jima Memorial, Custis-Lee mansion, Tomb Of The Unknown Soldier. One of the lesser viewed but most moving parts is the vast area where the Civil War unknowen are buried.
The Wall, WWII monument (really any of the monuments on the Mall), Smithsonian, National Cathedral — there is so much to do, much of it free.
All true. Used to live there.
I moved....................
If you’re gadget oriented, try the international Spy Museum (a private business, not U.S. run.)
go eat lunch at Nick’s riverside grille!!! Or Tony and Joes.
2.8% transexuals in DC. For perspective, perverted Hawaii is .78% and California is .76%.
My husband and I were in DC during Zero’s reign of Liberalism and all we heard were police sirens 24/7. I thought the city was filthy and it was embarrassing that the US capitol wasn’t kept clean.
The highlight of our time in DC was visiting Arlington National Cemetery and the Air and Space Museum.
The Lincoln and Jefferson memorials are awesome and free. Sitting on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial at sunrise is a wonderful experience on Easter Sunday or any day.Take a Cherry Blossom cruise from Georgetown down to Alexandria or MT Vernon, better yet, do the night monument cruise when the monuments are lighted. Visit the Vietnam Wall, go to the changing of the guard at Arlington. The White House requires advance tickets - but the White House visitor center is a few blocks away and has historic films and some neat stuff.
You sound like Harry Reid, complaining about “ugly women”
I’m sure you are quite a catch.

DC 8.9% homo, California 4.9%.
DC, the biggest LGBT-EIEIO place in the nation.
I loved the open spaces and vistas. Take the Metro over toward Arlington. Stretch your legs and walk to the old house at the top and read about how it was once the home of Robert E. Lee.
Go to the Capitol building and see all the sculpture in the rotundas and main hallways.
See the Vietnam Memorial, the reflecting pool, the Jefferson Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial. Walk your boredom off and never wait in line except to enter the Capital.
Good Guys on Wisconsin Ave
Museum of the Bible is outstanding.
Arlington Cemetery - Changing of the Guard is a not-to-miss.
Air & Space by Dulles Airport is, in my opinion, better than the overcrowded mess on the Mall. There’s an overlook on the third (?) floor that lets you watch the restoration section. They’re restoring (no... PRESERVATION) a B-26 bomber that flew more missions in WWII than any other aircraft; over 200. The next closest American plane flew about 100.
Anyway, a trip to Dulles Airport would be well worth your while!
Enjoy!
