Tiger WINS The Masters: A Resurgent Woods returns to Glory at Augusta after 14 years without [Trunc]

Tiger Woods has won The Masters tournament in an astonishing comeback after 14 years without a green jacket.

Woods, 43, was tied for second going into the final round on Sunday at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia, but pulled into the lead on the back nine and won as his mother and girlfriend looked on.

It is the first time Woods has won a major when he did not have a lead or co-lead after 54 holes, and his first win at The Masters since 2005.

Woods caught up with tournament leader Francesco Molinari on the 12th hole, when Molinari double-bogeyed on a shot into the water.

On the back nine, there was at one point a five-way tie for first place, with Woods, Molinari, Xander Schauffele, Brooks Koepka and Dustin Johnson all sitting at 12 under par.

Woods jumped out to the lead with a birdie on the 15th hole for 13 under. He went two up on the field with another birdie on the 16th.

What a story. I hope he learned a lot about life and doing right along the way. I’m very happy for him.

Tiger had to overcome some obstacles to win another major.

Agreed, "well done".

Happy for him. He seems to be getting his life back on track and finally recovering from a host of health issues.

It is almost eerie how Molinari washed his ball on two holes. He could have played much safer on 13, while on 16 he hit the pine tree and went straight down. Those two shots cost him four strokes and a chance to win.

Koepka and Schauffele stumbled a bit too. Either one could have been two shots better.

It looks like the Tiger Effect is still working!

The graphic said at 43 years, he’s the oldest winner since Jack Nicklaus won in 1986.

Hole #12 was the turning point.

Tiger’s experience kept him out of the creek.
