How many of our international partners have been to the moon? How many times has the United States been there? Why does this guy have a job at NASA?
This is where we need the Muslims... /sarc
“W cant find 1969 caliber NASA leadership? Fire them and replace them.”
EXACTLY what I was thinking ... both of the above parts!
“The plans that we laid out for 2028 are the same plans that we’re going to use to get to the moon in 2024. We’re just going to have to move forward some of our investments, but it’s all achievable,” Bridenstine said, adding that a sufficient budget is still “key.”
Pathetic.
Somehow, we were able to get to the moon a half-Century ago, using computer systems that were less sophisticated than the computer in a cheap wristwatch. Now its all talk, fat budgets, and little to show with some shining exemptions like the Martian rovers.
We’ll pay 99% of the cost and get 1% of the credit. They should fire this jackass.
I’M NOT PAYING TAXES SO WE DO THE “mankind” BULL CRAP AGAIN. Shut this down.
We could have NASA build rocket engines every 20 yards on the Wall. Then have them light up whenever needed.
Doesn't sound like any kind of leadership I've ever heard of.
If everyone is allowed to be a leader, then no one is.
Regards,
This post and subsequent comments have been enlightening in an alarming way. It sounds like we have a lot of catching up to do just to be on a par with the engineers of the 60’s.
And now I'm trying to stop projectile vomiting at that thought.
Unless there was a compelling project like surveying for mining for gold (?) or other precious minerals it would all be for show.
Personally I'd like to see a satellite sent to orbit each planet sending endless streams of data and images. Or planet rovers such as we sent to Mars.
And when the satellite was on the dark side of the planet the deep space images taken and stored until they could be relayed would surpass Hubble.
The digital imagery technology with megapixels we have today would yield spectacular photos in every spectrum.
“US Can’t Do It Alone, NASA Chief Says”
Oh BULL$HIT.
Pathetic, no? It took us less than 10 years in the 1960s. Now they set a 4 year goal and claim we need other nations?
There’s no way any organization or group of countries can pull that off in 4 years. At least they should set a realistic goal of 8 years.
The SLS is years behind schedule and billions over budget already, too, so there’s no launch vehicle.
Unfortunately, not many Nazi rocket scientists have been spirited out of German in the last 60 years. And Werner von Braun has passed.
Fortunately we have Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos. Bad news they have to reinvent the wheel so they won’t be effective until around 2030.

Correct, however man has no place on the moon today. We can land on the moon and do robotic explorations at a fraction of the cost and obtain much more scientific information.
When the cost and safety of manned exploration is reasonable man does have a place on the moon. It is not today and probably not for many years in the future.
The Apollo missions to the moon were an engineering marvel. It was actually political of the East verses West. We won. I would have much preferred robotic missions. Much more science would have been done at a fraction of the cost.
We damn near lost Apollo 13. Only due to extremely superior people on the ground and in the capsule they returned safely. The Add Hoc engineering calculations for a failure that had never been anticipated were incredible. It had to be perfect. It was. Houston saved them. The command module was not functional relative to propulsion. It was damn near dead. Houston figured out how to use he lunar excursion module that was functional to put Apollo 13 back into the proper trajectory to re-entry to earth for the command module. This was an engineering feat of great ability.
Oddly we have the ability to put a man on Mars. The risks would be very great. The costs would be even greater. Our Mars explorers on the planet today are doing great scientific work.
If it “aint broke” don’t fix it.
Need more Mooselimb outreach and left-handed lesbian 15th century Eskimos with sinus conditions, apparently.
“”We need all of our international partners. In fact, none of us can do what we want to achieve alone.”
NASA has become a national embarrassment. They can’t even launch a man into space now.
