Thanks. This was interesting. and reassuring.
Looks like it will hold up for now. I think I would have done my report on higher ground and not below it, haha.
Thanks for posting it. Must be reassuring for the folks in that area.
Thanks for posting.
This guy seems to provide the best reportage of Oroville.
$1.1 billion would have gone a long way to building the border wall on the southern border. Funny how California gets their money but the president can’t even beg borrow or steal the funds to protect this country from the inflow of illegal criminals.
Original bid was $ 280 M. Blank check written by the state. No rational why the costs exploded.
Looks good, but I wouldn’t consider them completely out of the woods yet, considering how much snow has fallen upstream. That’s why they are releasing the water down the spillway, to prepare for the snowmelt. We’ll see in a few months.
Water flowing in at 20,000 - 25,000 cfs today. During storms its exceeds 100,000 cfs.
Didn’t realize his name was Juan Browne.
Where the heck did he come up with the name “blancolirio”?
I got no doubt the spillway will be OK. But the EM spillway? They are still working on that although they did exactly what should have been done.
My fear is that the EM spillway will fail if it gets that high again because of work still underway there.
But the reason the EM spilled last years was because they shut down the main spillway for a while.
Bump for later
