My uncle was a yacht salesman for Chris Craft based out of Grand Haven, MI back in the late 60's and 70's. He also had a captains's license so he would also do boat deliveries.

After I got out of the Army in Jan. of 1972, I immediately got a job at a manuf. plant here in Detroit but was laid off a month later. In the beginning of May, I got a call from my uncle asking me if I wanted to crew for him on a yacht delivery he had to make from Minnesota all the way to the Gulf of Mexico, down the Mississippi river.

That would have been an experience of a life time for me but I had to decline since I had just been called back to work at the plant a week later.........

Not long after that, I got a call from Chrysler for a job interview......I worked my entire life at the plant but missed a trip on the Mississippi. Who knows what fate would have had for me had I gone with my uncle then got hired by Chrysler.........LOL!
