NATION-WORLD Infowars' Alex Jones blames Sandy Hook conspiracy claims on 'psychosis' Several families say that Jones' comments have subjected them to harassment and death threats by his followers. Author: Associated Press Published: 3:38 PM PDT March 30, 2019 Updated: 3:41 PM PDT March 30, 2019
Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones blamed the various claims he's made over the years, including that the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre was a hoax, on "psychosis," according to a deposition the "Infowars" host has given as part of a Texas lawsuit.
Jones described his conspiracy thinking as a kind of mental disorder during the deposition taken earlier this month for the lawsuit filed against him by the family of a 6-year-old who was among the 20 children and six adults killed in the Newtown, Connecticut, attack, the Austin American-Statesman reported .
Jones said during the deposition that he "almost had like a form of psychosis back in the past where I basically thought everything was staged, even though I'm now learning a lot of times things aren't staged."
Jones blamed his mental state on "the trauma of the media and the corporations lying so much, then everything begins you don't trust anything anymore, kind of like a child whose parents lie to them over and over again, well, pretty soon they don't know what reality is."
The defamation lawsuit was filed in Travis County, Texas, where Jones' media company is based. In August, the judge presiding over the lawsuit denied Jones' request to dismiss the case .
Jones' attorneys have defended his speech in court as "rhetorical hyperbole," but denied it was defamation.
During the deposition, Jones continued to voice conspiratorial suspicions about the shooting.

This guy is a walking disaster. Read a bit about this and feel bad for him, he’s discredited and embarrassed himself and people that listened, read, and supported him. It undermines anything he touches.
Likewise, anyone who took the Trump-Russia conspiracy seriously was also suffering from a psychotic disorder. TDS or TURD.
Not to mention, he blew it with his Y2K predictions ...
JimRob’s looking mighty prescient right now. He hasn’t allowed Alex Jones content on FR for many years.
I watched part of one of his videos, just once, and that was enough. He’s a nutball.
Still haven’t heard any rational explanation for the sloppy sniper.
I have no love, no respect for Alex Jones. But this sounds like more fake news and a hit piece to me.
Why is this news and why is it posted?
As nutso as Jones is, he’s a pup compared to the left with the doozies they came up with over the decades. Contrary to popular belief the moon landing hoax started years before Jones was thought of. The commie rags (The Militant, The Daily Worker, etc) had “proof”NASA paid off then MLB commish Bowie Kuhn to rig the 1969 baseball season so the last place, hapless hopeless N.Y. Mets would sweep through the playoffs, clinch the NL Pennant and miraculously win the World Series so as to distract the public’s attention from the hoax NASA was peretrating. But the one that still has me LMAO, the one that’s the gold standard by which all other conspiracy kookery should be judged was in 1981 when CPUSA head Gus Hall, who for CIA director John Brennan bragged about voting for Pres, had posters put up all over NYC claiming John Lennon was killed by the CIA. They had proof the CIA kidnapped Marc Chapman, implanted a chip in his butt and programmed him to carry out the deed.
“Why is this news and why is it posted?”
Why isn’t it news?
Maybe put True Pundit on the list too.
Right you are, Windy!
Jim’s had decades of experience dealing with miscreants, kooks, lunatics, fools and even some normal folks who merely acted like the aforementioned from time to time! LOL.

Sounds like a liberal’s zero thought process.
Yep. He really stepped in it with the Sandy Hook truther stuff, particularly when conspiracy nutjobs who listened to his show started accosting parents of dead kids. And now we have heartbroken parents killing themselves.
He's trying to set up his defense. He's going to need one.
And still, he has the patience of a saint. Amazing, really.
“Maybe put True Pundit on the list too.”
I’ll second that.
