As a college admissions scandal rocks the University of Southern California, athletic director Lynn Swann wants everyone to know he had no idea what was going on. In his first comments since the Department of Justice indicted dozens of wealthy parents and several more college coaches and administrators, the NFL Hall of Famer told the Los Angeles Times that the first time he learned of the scandal was a phone call early Tuesday morning:

Well you don’t have to pay to get a talented athlete into a college.
THEY are usually the ones that get something under the table.
So he may be telling the truth.
Not because he is so pure of heart, but because colleges will do almost anything for great football players. Not vice versa.

Lynn doesn’t know what blind sided is. He will when he is fired. The sports writers in LA wanted his head long before this latest SUC clown school episode.
In the real world, there would be reports about all the athletes on each team, status, amount of scholarship and results by each athlete. Those reports would be used to verify that scholarships were going to real athletes and show how well each coach was making decisions about where the money went.
Of course, universities seem to just throw money around like it is not their’s and there is always more where that came from, oh wait...
Ironically, he used to host the game show ‘To Tell The Truth’.
They're too busy with this and college sports corruption...oh, and The Coup of course.

I worked in an office of 40, and once anything remotely out of the ordinary happened, we all knew that same day.
Doesn’t seem very feasible that an AD was so IN THE DARK about something like this.

Well coups take a lot of time and effort :)
It has turned out to be the longest unsuccessful coup ever.
Coups don’t get easier as months and YEARS go by.
Even crazy Nancy knows it’s insanity to try and impeach Trump.
Especially when the majority of the country is against it.
I THOUGHT it might happen when they got rolling WAYYY back when. But they took too long to make up fake felonies and their window is closing.
Also seems like the DOJ is finally off life support and the counter attack may prove to be brutal.
A lot of Trojan football fans have also been calling for his ouster given the team's mediocre performance on his watch.
We hope.
But, really, who the Hell cares about the girls’ crew team? Apparently the only benefit offered to the Loughlin girls was favored admission. The friggin’ crew coach put in a chit for the girls with the admissions director. They got no scholarship money. Why in the name of Beelzebub would any follow up to see if they actually joined the crew team? The whole transaction could have gone by without Swann even being “in the loop”? He may well never have been informed.
He was there for one reason: to recruit football players.
Sure. Affirmative action in admissions is as much of a fraud as what the Hollywood celebrities just did.

Perhaps, but I tend to cut him a little slack. You tell me what D-1 major university AD knows the names of the students of their tennis, crew, golf, etc, etc, teams. Their focus is on the programs that generate revenue, football, basketball, maybe baseball. I’m guessing this will change, already changing at warp speed probably...

Well having a dem saying “we’re going to get that mother####er” didn’t help their cause at all.
I’m not sure if that’s the exact quote and I forget who said it but it was recent and it was some animal that said it.
At least she, I think it was a she, was honest about why they are going after him. PURE hate.
The sad part is the lives that are ruined and will be ruined by this witch hunt.
It is the downfall of many folks who do illegal things in the end!
Card cheaters in casinos, drug dealers..many who were brought down could have probably kept making money if they weren’t so greedy.
But hey the biggest thieves of all stole 23 trillion dollars from us and their greed increases with each year.
