The NCAA has found major recruiting violations at Georgia Tech. The school is expected to announce the news Friday, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The allegations name two men former assistant basketball coach Darryl LaBarrie and Ron Bell. The NCAA believes both men are responsible for Level 1 violations, the highest possible. Current head coach Josh Pastner has not been charged with any violations, his attorney told the Journal-Constitution.

Coach Pastner learned his trade from Loot Olson at Arizona. Nothing would be a surprise.
How come the NCAA hasn’t said anything about the admissions scandal? It involved senior athletic directors and coaches.
Its spreading!
Just as well. Something needs to pop the ridiculous higher-education bubble.
It didn't involve the high profile, money making sports such as Bball and football......
uhhhh ...he was thinking of majoring in Human Anatomy and this was....err....field work.
The biggest admission scandal of all is ongoing. Try to imagine a good number of football/b-ball jocks in a real college class.
Stop laughing.
Yes, I know there are some smart ones out there. My best friend on college was a EE major with a 3.8/4.0 GPA, and a halfback. But he was not your average jock.
Many major in staying eligible.
Something needs to pop the ridiculous higher-education bubble.

A simple look at tuition prices which have for decades steadily risen well above the rate of inflation tells you that something nefarious has been going on. As usual, follow the money. And you don’t need a fancy degree to understand that.
What’s the violation? Anybody of age can go to a strip club...................
That’s the real scandal is the prices.
That’s why......................
Just wait until the records are made public that the mastermind kept for 24 years...........................
NCAA violations from going to a strip club? It must have been a female strip club. I doubt if this would have been a problem if it had been a male strip club.
“...uhhhh ...he was thinking of majoring in Human Anatomy and this was....err....field work.”
LOL
My son graduated from Georgia Tech. I remember asking my wife when we were at the ceremony where all of the big people were at. I expected to see some tall basketball player types or huge lineman types but it was all average looking kids.
Yes, I know there are some smart ones out there.
The lead Engineer on a job I was at used to play for the Boston Patriots and quit to get his Doctorate from MIT. At the time you could make more money as an Engineer than as a football player. Good thing, he ended up developing the process for manufacturing most of the fiber optic cable we use today
Because the NCAA makes way too much money off college athletics, not just the schools. If they really dug into every school, every admission, it would destroy what minimal credibility the NCAA has.
why was it wrong to take the recruit to a strip club? was he underage?
Too bad for them they aren’t North Carolina. They are the Teflon program.
