A new rumor has landed online that echoes my own concerns about the Captain Marvel movie and Brie Larson, but this is claimed to be coming from on top -- as high as Disney CEO Bob Iger.
The rumor claims that the Avengers cast, or certain members of the Avengers cast, is unhappy with Brie Larson being the face of the MCU going forward. It's said one particular actress - hinted at it being Elizabeth Olsen - feels that they are getting pushed aside, that they are getting treated differently.

Yeah. This should go over as big as the old female Ghostbusters.
So Captain C*nt is going to be defeated by an 8 foot tall purple man played by a white guy?
LOL!
* = a
For anyone who is wondering, that word is “cant”’, mkay.
Let’s not have our minds wander off into areas that may proves offensive to the WAHMEN!
Why don’t they make a superhero who is trans, woman, m*slim, gay, Spanish-speaking and peanut allergic? No normal person would watch it.
Why dont they make a superhero who is trans, woman, m*slim, gay, Spanish-speaking and peanut allergic?
wait for it they have like 26 more movies planned ,LOL
I stopped following this franchise a while ago, but I thought the basic story arc was supposed to end with the next Avengers movie. I don’t know which heroes will end up permanently dead, but I think several of the actors want to move on to other roles.
I think it would be hard to find a “new Iron Man” or a “new Thor” or Black Widow or Captain America. If the actor has had enough, I don’t know if Marvel will keep pushing the character.
While I don’t see Captain Marvel having a bright future, I do think that future films will need to feature new faces. Just not Brie Larson. So I don’t really understand the notion that existing actors feel that they are being “pushed aside”. That seems pretty inherent to the plan.
But perhaps this is internal politics as people try to explain the debacle that is Captain Marvel.
Brie might be the biggest miscast in MCU history.
There is a huge Soap Opera going on behind the scenes here.
I had forgotten just how seriously sci-fi and Comic Book fans take their heroes. It’s one of those situations where if you don’t know all the mythology behind each episode, you’re clearly missing out.
In general, I am not a fan of these types of movies, but it’s still interesting to see how all is put together. It’s a Team Effort. Somebody needs to tell Miss Brie and Samuel Jackson to ‘Shut up and sing’.
“Hey, Dude, be more careful with that open jar of Skippy. Your Peanut Butter is my Kryptonite!!”
“Captain Marvel” to me, was always the man in the red suit and the blue cape, with a lightning bolt blazoned across his chest, whose alter ego was the mild-mannered Billy Batson. When Billy uttered the word “SHAZAM!”, the vast powers unleashed changed him into the flying superhero (really a knockoff of Superman) that represented some REAL American virtues.
This new version of “Captain Marvel” is just a further erosion of that collapse of the promotion of American virtue and belief in the justice upon which this country was founded.
They started with the most boring, plagiarized, superhero in the Marvel Universe — Captain Marvel, aka “Superman” flying brick reboot.
Then they (apparently) slapped on feminist stuff to make this boring dud “new”. You know, because nothing says feminism like a cat suit.
It will be a dud, and should be.
The filmmakers are implying that the SJW activism messaging of Captain Marvel is what they intend to carry forward into the next generation of Marvel movies. Get woke, go broke will put an end to the franchise pretty quickly once they roll that out.
And lest you think Disney won't make such a stupid business decision for such a huge tent pole franchise, I give you Exhibit A: Star Wars.
Marvel’s first Captain Marvel died of cancer. All the heroes were by his bedside.
The Bush Rule is in effect.
“Pissing off your Base is NOT a winning strategy”
Executive #1: "We have a great thing going here. These movies are basically making a billion dollars a piece. It's unbelievable! We can churn these babies out and just watch the money roll in!"
Executive #2: "All we have to do is avoid doing something stupid that will turn our fans away."
Executive #1: "Hey, I have an idea!"
Executive #2: "What is it?"
Executive #1: "Let's go all SJW just like Star Wars!"
Executive #2: "I like it!"
The four Star Wars movies released by Disney have made almost 5 billion dollars at the box office. Three of those movies were the #1 movie in their years.

I think I will skip captain marvel movie and watch Shazam instead!
I liked “Wonder Woman” for two reasons:
1) Gal Gadot is hot
2) the movie is a love story, and not ashamed to admit it
“Captain Marvel” sounds like leftist drivel in tights.
The Han Solo movie which immediately followed it tanked so badly that Disney put all the future "in between" movies on hold as a result. For the next movie they had to bring back JJ Abrams hoping he can somehow fix it. If you think all is well in Star Wars land then we just see it differently.
The amount of hype surrounding this movie is a red flag. Studios will often over promote big budget films that are not good enough to recoup the big budgets poured into them. Since I have been hearing and seeing Captain Marvel everywhere for at least the last month, I am guessing that the studio knows they have a flop on their hands. This is especially bad since this movie is supposed to have a major impact on the big Avengers movie coming out in the summer.
I think that Disney and Marvel are trying to mitigate their losses. They must realize that they have a flop when they need a blockbuster to lead in to Endgame. Their only hope now is to have a big enough opening weekend to offset the losses when bad reviews plus word of mouth tell people to stay away.
