The world's most polluted capital cities have been revealed - and Delhi has been exposed as the worst.
Residents in India's capital city were exposed to more than ten times the safe amount of air pollution on an average day, a study has shown.
Dhaka, in Bangladesh, ranked second-worst with ten times the safe limit while Kabul, in Afghanistan, ranked third, with six times the same limit.

This is a completely bulls*** ranking.
NO CHINESE CITIES ARE INCLUDED.
There are at LEAST 10 Chinese cities with above 100 PM2.5 concentrations (putting everyone of them on the same level as New Delhi which is number one on the list). It is suspect why China is not on this list.
By comparison, the worst is Bakersfield in the US at 18.
Ive been to India over 20 times. There is not one city that is not extremely polluted. When our President states “shithole country”, India immediately comes to mind.
Beijing is listed and it says capitol cities. Each country has 1.
List is of capital cities only.
Yeah, I missed that.
But the industrialized West is responsible for “climate change.”
Uh huh.
WHAT????
You mean American cities are not topping the list? No freekin’ way.
And yet the RATs want US to “shoulder the burden of global warming” when we are nowhere near the levels of pollution seen elsewhere! The truth is that a Green New Deal here wouldn’t accomplish anything but the complete destruction of our county’s economy, and hence its complete destruction. But again, that’s really where they’re going with all of this junk science, isn’t it!
U.S. has only one capital city.
Recently had some discussions with a FedEx pilot who does a lot of long distance overseas runs.
Asked him what’s the worst place to fly in to?
He said, Delhi, you can smell the sh*t burning as soon as you descend thru 10,000 feet.
I know. I was being facetious.
You would think the Oracle of Delphi would have seen this coming.
If we are talking about ground pollution, Delhi is still top, but I'd place San Francisco and NYC high up on the list. Same with Tijuana, Juarez, and anywhere in Mexico. Taipei as well.
Okay, I've been to 50 countries and most are filthy cesspools, full of trash, run down (as if they were ever anything but), and polluted. Asia, South Asia, Central, and South America, all the same. Add to that any illegal alien infested area of the US. I suspect it is cultural as much as anything. Tribalism. Uncivilized ways. Failed colonial areas.
Beijing and Hanoi both definitely suck big time.
Seoul is also bad, but their pollution is mainly coming in from China.
Next time someone tells you China is environmentally conscious, laugh in their face.
Let’s send Occasional Cortex there to tell them to fix their problems.
Washington DC may not have a lot of pollution, but it does emit a lot of hot air.
Without reliable relatively cheap electricity, the poverty in India and Bangladesh would be if you could imagine infinitely worse. They must burn coal and the cheapest oil products available to generate that electricity. The air would be a lot cleaner if the nuclear industry had developed over the last fifty years as was once envisioned. Solar and wind are at best supplementary sources. They are simply not dense enough to power an industrial society.
