Not awful for me, I live in Northern California. I haven’t set foot in the LA Basin for 4 years( and back then I was in the company of a retired LAPD cop who told me that he wished that he had a gun with him). But my comment was related to all this BS about “globull warming.” And actually, it’s been unusually cold up here as well. Currently, it’s 53, but January and February were down in the low 30’s quite a lot.

Here in beautiful suburban Omaha we got snow today for the fifth Saturday in a row with another snowstorm predicted for next Saturday. We have about 19 inches of global warming on the ground right now, having received 10 inches last Saturday in the form of a blizzard. It is supposed to get really cold for the next few days with a wind chill advisory in effect for tonight and tomorrow.
Sorry I had to vent there, FRiends. It has been a rough winter here on the prairie so far. Golf season looks mighty far away.
I think the “not a real country” joke is based on the Queen of the UK still being a Head of State in Canada, a country she does not live in.
For Canada, at some point it might be worth considering royalty is not a good mix with the idea of people having equal rights. Especially given that the Royals now seem to be marrying commoners.
I say that with utmost respect and affection for Canada, having been born and lived in BC for the first two years of my life. Two years more than your Head of State.
I’ve got relatives in NW Missouri and I feel for you guys back there. I moved to Idaho years ago. Normally I deal with the cold weather and you guys till gardens in the spring. Not this year. Our snow is melting off a good water year for us. But I’ve watched your weather along with mine. You are definitely getting drilled this time around. The Rockies seem to be channeling the cold away from us. Stay warm every little doggy has his day.
I am giddy with anticipation. Cold Mardi gras. Making big pot of gumbo and having King Cake. Chocolate too. I love it. Blistering 8 months of unrelenting heat coming soon enough. Send it down!!!

Beautiful Lake Louise. I wouldn’t mind going back there - if I had a bucket list, I’d add that to it.
So, highs in the teens this week, and then 40s next weekend.
