Stop Calling Him 'Dr.': The Academic Fraud of Sebastian Gorka, Trump’s Terrorism 'Expert'
Haaretz ^ | Andrew Reynolds

Posted on 02/26/2019 10:31:00 AM PST by SeekAndFind

Early on a mustache-twirling villain emerged as the face of the Trump White House. With the mannerisms of a pompous English B-movie baddy, Sebastian Gorka is to Donald Trump what the Sheriff of Nottingham was to King John. The malevolent sidekick.

Dr. Gorka styles himself as the crusading academic. A Kissinger for our troubled times. The brilliant scholar of terrorism who has taught at elite colleges and published groundbreaking research. He often reminds the imbeciles of the press that as a man of great learning only he truly comprehends the threat of Muslims.

But experts have listened to Gorka’s advocacy of the Muslim ban, attacks on the media and sterling defence of Trump’s “well-oiled’ administration and wondered how could such a well trained academic make such baseless and ignorant claims about topics he purports to be an expert on? In March he became embroiled in a remarkable spat with a Republican National Security consultant, Michael S. Smith. Gorka is flailing widely – tilting at enemies real and imagined.

I started digging and it didn’t take long to find out that Gorka is a fraud – a charlatan of the most brazen hue – a snake-oil salesman whose supposed Ph.D dissertation would have never passed muster in America or Britain and to put the cherry on the cake was approved by an fraudulent panel of examiners. The polar opposite of Lt. Gen H.R. McMasters’ celebrated dissertation awarded by UNC Chapel Hill.

Gorka is Hungarian-English. He gained an American passport in 2012. His nationalist parents fled to London from Budapest in 1956. His dissertation – Content and End-State-based Alteration in the Practice of Political Violence since the End of the Cold War: the difference between the terrorism of the Cold War and the terrorism of al Qaeda

At this point, I trust President Trump 100%.

For comparison, I trust Sebastian Gorka 0%.

Oh really? Gorka was 100% behind President Trump from Afghanistan to illegal immigration and building the wall. And where did that get him?

It was Kelly who fired him specifically because of Gorka's stance on the above.

And where is Kelly now and why was he fired? Because he was outspoken against Trump's stance on illegal immigration and Afghanistan............Sheesh!

As a side note, if you're going to ask why Trump hired Kelly in the first place, don't forget, since he was not a Washington insider, he had to rely on Republican sources, many of whom we now know are never-Trumpers.

Kelly, as it turns out was a back stabbing never Trumper who fired a true patriot. And as time has gone by, Trump is slowly getting rid of the crap like Kelly.......

Remember what I said—I trust President Trump 100%. I don’t need to worry about Kelly vs Gorka.

Who knows what the deal is with Gorka, and who really cares?

The thing to remember is we don’t have to pay attention to people like Gorka who seem to be part conservative and part unknown.

The unknown factor tells me not to listen to what Gorka says.

Then keep listening to the MSM, you'll get everything you need to know about Gorka from them........

You mean, my only options are to trust Gorka or trust the MSM?

Sounds like a very untrustworthy proposition.

Graduate education degree thesis or dissertation title at my bachelor’s degree graduation over 40 years ago - “Handwashing Techniques in Preschoolers”. I no longer remember if that was for a master’s or doctor’s degree!

Personally, I would reserve the “doctor” title for, in addition to medicine and dentistry, to at least semi hard sciences

Many people think the term doctor refers to those who practice medicine. That is not the case.

Before you decide which degree you would recognize, you need to read about the history of the degrees and why others recognize the PhD as the doctoral degree - no matter the discipline in which it was attained.

The term doctor comes from the Latin docere meaning to teach. The Ph.D. is an academic degree, it is not a 'practice' degree. It has been the highest degree since before the 17th century. The MD degree is a much more recent professional degree. The degree is for someone who practices medicine. To be a professor at a medical school you need a PhD.
