Reading through the list of Oscar winners, I realize that I have not watched a single one of these movies. Not one. Not only not the winners, but none of the nominees. Am I alone in this?

Forgettable movies made by forgettable artists.
Not only have the nominations NOT been seen, have no idea as to the list of nominations nor do I care to buy a clue.
Life is too short to waste snippets of time watching garbage.

Q: I was practically in tears!
dfwgator: Practically? I was bawling. Both tears of empathy as well as guilt, you know?

dfwgator: The privileged capitalist hegemony has a LOT of making up to do.
Q: Wow! You really get it, dfwgator!
dfwgator: Well, sometimes it’s time to fight the power, you know?

Not a one for me. Probably the first time in a couple of decades. But I seldom see them all either. Still—0 for 9!
Maybe more a reflection of my year than anything. Might well have seen Roma and A Star is Born otherwise.
I don’t pay attention to any of the “awards” as they are all about virtue signalling and promoting a left-wing viewpoint. It’s like the boy in high school putting on a dress for the high school prom. He will automatically win homecoming queen lest the school be thought of as backwards and bigoted. Sorry girls but the boy in the dress will always win the homecoming crown by default. And apply the same standards to movies, TV shows and music. For instance, the Grammys have been a joke for decades. If a recording wins a Grammy, chances are, it’s not very good music. Didn’t Jimmy Carter win a couple Grammys for spoken word recording (he basically read his book out loud). I mean, come on! No doubt Obama will read a book out loud next year and get a Grammy as well. It means NOTHING! It’s all a joke.
Of course pepsionice won’t pay 10 bucks for a Coke!
You’re not alone. I haven’t seen any of them, either. The only movie I went to see in a theater last year was “They Shall Not Grow Old.”
I can usually find something on Netflix of Amazon streaming, but the only time I go to a theater to watch a movie is if my daughter wants to see it, which is getting rarer these days.
Liberals giving awards to liberals. Meaningless.
I’ve not seen one of them either.
And have missed absolutely nothing.
Like dfwgator, the only one I would have watched was “They Shall Not Grow Old”, but irritatingly, I cannot find anyplace in my area showing it.
I stopped watching the Oscars about 25 years ago simply because I thought the movies that won weren’t the best movies, and saw it as a sham.
And that was before it completely turned into what it is now, even though there has always been politicking of various things, now any pretense is gone.
The only movies generally considered are “woke” movies by minorities. It is, and has been for a long time, a contest to see who can out-virtue signal each other.

not only do I not watch these liberal agenda movies, I refuse to watch the self congratulatory crap ass shows like the oscars.
Hahahahahahah...love it! I would try it, but after two words, the tone of my voice, and the look on my face, my cover would be blown!
When I say “Oh, YES!” the utter sarcasm and distaste would be so evident, it would be like one of those situations where a non-toxic sarcastic overtone would (like a rat in an experiment that dies due to an overload of a non-toxic substance like peanut butter force fed to it in massive quantities) simply overpower and kill any doubt on the part of the other person!
