How many pointless, wasted, off topic comments/replies have you read on these threads? Hundreds? Thousands? I know I’ve seen them so it’s improbable that you haven’t.

I’ve seen them. I don’t care for the off topic stuff either. I’d say none are without sin.
Troll fighting is different, and is way more annoying to a lot of people. The only purpose that emerges is to see which one can hurl the worst insults. And it’s never ending-no winners in that regard. Losers for the thread because people quit. One reason I don’t go to the Forum - all the snotty crap. YMMV
When slides into harmless topics happen, I usually go look to see if I can find some interesting news to post, that might get a different discussion going.
Anyway that’s how I see it. I’ve done my best to explain. If you can’t agree, that’s all right, we’ll just have to agree to disagree and move on.
Enough discussion for now I hope.

I have a vague recollection of all that. And I think Oswalt the child rapist is connected to it?
