US State Department Statement on Hoda Muthana::

Ms. Hoda Muthana is not a U.S. citizen and will not be admitted into the United States. She does not have any legal basis, no valid U.S. passport, no right to a passport, nor any visa to travel to the United States. We continue to strongly advise all U.S. citizens not to travel to Syria.

He’s saying that now. Let’s see what they say after 65 days of nonstop network TV sob stories.

Importantly, that also means her son (who I presume was born in Syria based on his age and whose father, if I recall, was another foreign jihadi but not American) is not a citizen and has no legal basis to travel to the US.

I love a happy ending, though I expect we’ll see some sort of lawsuit. There’s a procedure by which she can still potentially travel to the US and apply for admission.
