The New England Winter of 1979-80 did a very big number on the gypsy moth population. Took about 20 years for the encroach to start creeping North again.

Many years ago we had a problem with those gypsy moths here in S.E. Michigan.......

Then again a number of years ago it was the emerald ash borer that destroyed all the Ash trees here too. That was a sight to behold.
