Today’s Cryptogram

EVJF FYONVPE QPF CQOHFY

UPONFPE, XIN EV QPF JVEN

UPONFPE. N. E. FHOVN

You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications, unfortunately they are copyrighted so we can't use them here. So, we're just going to make up our own. The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram). Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.

PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles. Puzzle solvers love to hear if you found the CG challenging or easy.

You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram.

If you're just starting out on these, be patient, as you'll be proficient in no time.

Solving the puzzle under 8 minutes is good, under 6 very good, under 4 excellent and under two "you're a pro!"

Those of you looking for an added challenge can try to solve one sentence or even one word at a time, i.e. solve the entire first line, then go to the second line etc.

If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hal’s Helper below:

You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper.

Let me know if you want on or off our Cryptogram Ping List, (currently at 55!)

Solution to our last puzzle:

A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives. Jackie Robinson

Many of you picked up on the first letter being “A” and that told you that the three different 2-letter words began with “I.” Frequently, if the third word is 2 letters, it will be “IS.”And a really good tip came from coaster123 who says he always starts by looking for the “ABCA” sequence, in this case found in the 5th word of the puzzle, that gave you the “E” and you’re off to the races.

Don’t know how long it took me since I had to take a break.
I was stumped on the author’s name as it was my first guess. I always thought it had double letters in its name so I kept denying that it was a correct guess. I learned something today. It has a simple spelling :) Thanks!

Made a leap of faith on the third and eighth repeating words, used the comma to determine the sixth word, guessed the connecting seventh word for the phrase. That gave me the initials of the author ... and then it was just a matter of filling in the blanks.

That was tough for me. But when I solved the author, it was easy.

Author first. The rest was smooth sailing. Good for a chuckle.

Well, that took about 6 minutes, because I didn’t start with the 3 letter word after the comma, as I should have. Once I got that word, I knew the name.
