Should they be called “orientals” again?
She wrote ASIANS because writing jabbering gooks takes too long.
Not taking up for this offended woman but....I waited tables in a restaurant, switched to cocktails, and eventually bartending and I always wonder... How incredibly stupid are these waitresses/waiters that can’t keep their tables straight without writing crap like this on them? When I worked food our tables were all numbered....even though there were no numbers on the table....we knew their numbers and what went where.
The fact that what some waitress wrote on a receipt in New Zealand made news around the world shows you all you need to know about the news media.
If this is Australia or the UK we are talking about then “Asians” means our “Middle Easterns.” We refer to them as Middle Easterns and the UK refers to them as Asians. Maybe she should have written ragheads?
LOL, well at least they weren’t called “tourists”! While visiting San Francisco, I kept being cautioned by my hosts, “don’t act like a tourist!”. I asked, “Why not? I am a tourist.”
Apparently in San Francisco, there is nothing lower than being a tourist. Well, they solved that problem with great ingenuity! They carefully cultivated an entire population of street people who poop and pee in the streets and train stations, shoot up in public, who mug people and steal anything visible in parked automobiles and sleep on sidewalks with their mini tent/box homes.
Voila! No tourism. It must be a tremendous relief to know that people like me will never darken their doors or corrupt their safe haven.

Multiculturalists are constantly pointing out their ethnicity. It pours out it rivults, it twirls around, inducing stoic wincing on others, it’s emblazoned on everything they say.
Finally you consent to recognize their ethnicity:

It’s the same with “the n word” —it’s in their every hip-hop song sold to the public, it’s the verbal imprimateur of many urban people. They love that word, they feel VALIDATED by it.
Yet use it even in the most condign of circumstances and you won’t be permitted to earn your daily bread.
What we’re looking at is a very large number of media-led people bending over backwards to enforce a system of inequality.
During my short restaurant career as mostly a dishwasher or busboy, I was sometimes used as a “runner” in which I would go around to the tables delivering rolls, re-filling drinks, etc., while the waitresses did their thing. It would not be unusual for a waitress to tell me to take some extra coffee creamers “to that “black couple over in the corner.” The waitresses might have had a number system for tables but I needed more of a description!
How is describing a group of people as “Asians” racist?

Also, this incident involves an Asian female, so this whole thing just got all intersectional up in here.

Must make them feel good. They finally found something to somehow be offended.
Live I’ve always said, it’s racist to just notice a person’s skin color. We’re all supposed to be blind, stupid, and afraid in order to meet the demands of political correctness.
But it can be DIFFERENT IN A DIFFERENT COUNTRY!
Don’t get me going on that. I still call them oriental (what’s so terrible about that? call me occidental see if I get offended), but I should call them yellow. To match white (still allowed!) and black (African-American - makes no sense anywhere but here, maybe). They are simple and to the point, easy to speak and spell, while all matching in characteristic type.
