Frank Robinson, a star, trailblazer and one of the most decorated baseball figures in history, has died, MASN reported Thursday. He was 83.
Robinson, a Hall of Famer and the only player to be named MVP in both the National and American League, had battled cancer for years.
The longtime Reds and Orioles outfielder, who also played for the Dodgers, Angels and Indians, collected records and glory in his 21-year career, in which he won the Triple Crown and two World Series.

yes he was a great player, fine man on and off the field.
I recall for many years in the ‘60s and ‘70s, many called the trade of Frank Robinson by the Reds to the Orioles, for Milt Pappas, to be one of the most one sided trades in baseball history.
Aw, crud.
*PING* just because of the last name... ;-)
He lived in a day when men were men, and women loved them.
He will be missed.
So many great things you heard about the great Frank Robinson, on and off the field.
May God bless his eternal soul.
The Os lost a good man in Pappas, but got a legend.
Frank Robinson was a class act and talented ball player.
A true superstar. RIP
From the days of my youth. Great, great player. May he rest in peace.
He hit 586 career home runs, before the steroid era. He was 4th on the all time homer list at the time he retired.
He came close to 3000 hits for his career, falling less than 100 short of that goal.
Absolutely magnificent.
When the stars would give a wave (instead of a chicken dance) to the applauding crowd after a great play.
He was given the thankless task of managing a Montreal Expos team that had fallen into MLB receivership.
Also I believe he might have been the last player-manager in the major leagues. An impressive resume! RIP.
looking at his stats...incredible !
by a unanimous vote, 56 Rookie of the Year and a case could be made he probably had stats to be MVP that year.
If memory serves he was the first and still only player to be an MVP in both leagues
RIP
if they had a D.H. in his day,
how many ???
Another Reds legend, Pete Rose, was the last player-manager.
He did get to be DH for four years at the end.
I loved watching him play. I have seen him interviewed many times and he always seemed really nice, very classy.
