What Rural China is Like

One of the mysteries of China, and there are many such mysteries, is what it is like living in the hinterlands of China. Rural China. People see pictures of the skyscrapers of Shanghai, and the high-tech modern world of ultra-futuristic Shenzhen, but what of the rest of the country? What is it like? Is the mainstream media narrative that it is a devoid and barren wasteland correct?

Well, in this post we try to show what China is like outside of the big mega-cities. It’s kind of difficult, as China is just rife with mega-cities. In fact, many a village in China would qualify as a city in the United States. Ah, but we will try… we will try…

It is considered “fly-over” country, and is ignored by the mainstream media. The people who live there are considered hicks, ignorant deplorables, and destitute simpletons that stream into the cities to look for work. The main-stream media never reports on the countryside, or if it does, it is always shown in a bad light. It is always along the lines of “the working poor flood into the cities for work“… etc.

That is truly sad, and what is even sadder is that the very people who live in America that live in the Heartland, the very ones that are known as deplorables (by their urban breathern), refer to the rural Chinese with the same horrible derogatory language. It’s sad, and it is sickening.

Rural China is no worse than rural Kentucky. It is no worse than “fly-over” Iowa. It is no worse than deplorable-ruled Charlotte. The only thing is that the American media calls

It's a pretty innocuous article consisting of a plethora of embedded micro-videos. Warning - there are scenes of extreme poverty, and related images that might be disturbing to the viewer.

Posted in the spirit of the new year; the year of the pig. As this is the middle of the CNY holiday, and all of China are gorged on food and totally sh@t-faced drunk. Enjoy.

What?! Scenes of people rendering their own lard? Washing clothes in a tub next to the creek? Putting up their own pickles?

My, that would be disturbing! But if I wanted that, I could peruse my own family album!

Regards,

Not-so-humblegunner, your rant is worse than the blog posts. I’m sure Jim is frustrated with all the long article posts hogging up bandwidth. Your constant rant is worse than a nagging ex-wife.

OCD?

I thought it was really interesting; China is like Russia, there is no tolerance for freeloaders on welfare.

Yes. That is very perceptive of you. (Boy could I discuss that with you!) That is true for all conservative nations.

We Americans have forgotten what being conservative is. Instead we accept the narrative promoted to us by the big media out of the urban centers. China is many things, but primarily it is conservative.

It is traditional. It is chinese traditional, but it is traditional. And yes, there is a one party rule... the Conservative party.

That is not what the liberal trolls on FR want to hear. They want to keep everyone following the media narrative. It is a method of control, don't ya know. And yes. They are liberals that love to disrupt the post on FR. Just look at their posting history. LOL!

I swear my Mother in Law told me similar stories of her neighbors who went home to Italy in the 1930s. They told her how everything was better under the fascists.

I do agree that people are people. And that everyone just wants to live their lives.

But this article tries a little too hard.

Honestly, I don’t care about the day to day life in China. As long as they stay in China, I don’t think I will ever care.

All true that Rural China is no worse than rural Kentucky, Iowa, or Charlotte.

Except for the fact that they live under a despotic Communist regime than can take their money, property, freedom, and life without any recourse whatsoever, it is probably very true there isn't much difference.

This is one of the author’s interesting articles:

https://metallicman.com/laoban4site/when-the-sjw-movement-took-control-of-china/

It attempts to compare the Cultural Revolution in China with the “social justice” movements in the U.S. It’s not an altogether wrong comparison - methods, tactics, who really is trying to use and control them, how they get out of control and start attacking those that foment them - ring some bells?

I really do not care about China anymore. It would be best to just acknowledged them as an enemy of the west and move on. We should stop trading with our enemies.

We can’t cut off welfare and continue to flood the USA with an unending supply of cheap labor.
