The North Carolina 3-year-old who vanished from his grandmother’s backyard earlier this week said he spent his two days in the woods with a friendly bear.
Casey Lynn Hathaway was found alive just before 9:30 p.m. Thursday, bringing an emergency two-day search for the missing toddler to a close. Rescue workers were following up on a tip about a crying child when they discovered Casey about 40 or 50 yards into a wooded area, tangled up in some brush and calling out for his mother.
The boy had been missing since Tuesday, when he didn’t come inside with the other children he’d been playing with at his grandmothers house in Enrul, located about 100 miles southeast of Raleigh.
Casey’s aunt, Breanna Hathaway in a Facebook post said her nephew was “healthy, smiling and talking” following his return late Thursday.
“He said he hung out with a bear for two days,” she wrote. “God sent him a friend to keep him safe. God is a good God. Miracles do happen.”

He was found within 1/2 mile of where he disappeared, and 600+ people had searched the area for him??? Something is not adding up.....
When my Daughter was 3 she used to tell some tall tales.

friendly bear? Yogi? Gentle Ben? joking aside, thankfully he is safe.
Luckily the bear wasn’t hungry.

Have the kid draw pictures. The truth will be in there somehow.
Well, supposedly Romulus and Remus hung out with a she-wolf who suckled them. Rome is named after Romulus and the image of the wolf appears on everything in Rome.
It seems to be possible...or it may have been a child’s fantasy. I think there are things in the story that don’t add up, but in any case I’m glad the child is alive.
Unfortunately, in today’s world, that is a reasonable thought.

A "Bear" may not be what everyone assumes it is.
