A disgraced ex-NYPD lieutenant facing sentencing for bribery conspiracy has spilled the beans on the depth of alleged corruption in the departments License Division, detailing accusations of special treatment for President Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Michael Cohen and an unidentified ally of Mayor de Blasio.
Former Lt. Paul Dean says in papers filed in Manhattan Federal Court Wednesday that a culture of corruption within the unit responsible for processing city gun permits was enabled by former Commissioner Bill Bratton, among others.

Hypocritical hypocrites hypocritically hypocriticaling
Donating to Democrats to get a Gun Permit has been big business in NYC, DC, and Chicago for decades.
It has always been the case, in New York and in other places, that high profile people were given first consideration for concealed carry.
A democratically controlled city and state and this went down? Shame Shame.. on them.
Calling Commissioner Reagan.
NY Daily news is NYT lite....
Nice of the Elites to hand out Constitutionally Protected Rights to the Rich and Powerful while denying the same to everyone else.
Here is my shocked face. #;^O
NYDN is a grotesque rag
Politics had no bearing on who got permits. It was influence and votes and money. You had to have the PC’s number on speed dial. Jewish landlords and diamond dealers, guys like Trump, and entertainers. Now that’s all over. No one is getting permits anymore, except for retiring cops.
There is no such paper as the New York Daily Times. There is a NY Times and there is a New York Daily News. Have those two been fooling around and produced a hybrid?
John Lennon Rule.
I probably don’t look at this stuff correctly.
On the one hand, if some big guy named Vito comes into my store and suggests that I pay him weekly so that he watches my store and makes sure it doesn’t burn down — I know that Vito’s “suggestion” is a crime.
But if a rich big shot reaches out to the local police department and suggests that he get a gun permit faster than usual, is this a crime? Maybe the cops would violate procedure if they actually expedited the request, but what is the harm in asking? Doesn’t seem like a crime on that end.
I felt the same way about despicable lawyer Cohen. He claimed that Trump suggested that Lawyer Cohen should lie in court. Well, isn’t the real story the idea that Lawyer Cohen may have said, “Great idea! I don’t see anything wrong with it! I’ll go lie in court!” That’s where the real problem resides.
Personally, I’ve sat with my accountant and said, “Look, I definitely don’t want to break the law, but would it make sense for me to do this, that, or this other thing?” And sometimes my accountant say, “Oh, no! We’d both get in trouble for doing that!” End of story. But it’s not a crime to ask.

Absolutely...and in general, those hypocrites involved have poo-pooed the idea of any impropriety!
