One described it as some kind of plague and another claimed sickly passengers had greatly dilated pupils.
Fearing mass poisoning on board, the pilot decided to make an emergency landing in the southern Russian city of Volgograd.
Doctors and paramedics from five ambulances rushed on board the Airbus A321-211, videos show.
Several passengers were taken for urgent medical treatment. Their conditions were not immediately known.
Particularly affected were passengers between rows 21 and 26 in economy class.
A woman passenger from Sochi said left the aircraft in Volgograd: "I was woken by a young woman screaming for assistance.
She yelled and screamed Help, help! because her husband felt ill. He was feeling really bad.
"He was suffocating and he couldnt breathe in.
His face went the colour green then a panic swept through the plane.
Those with children moved them away from the rows blighted by the strange symptoms as people feared a infectious disease was sweeping through the plane
Passenger Ilya Binder told TV360 a number of passengers began to feel sharply ill some 40 minutes into the flight.
He said: All of them had greatly dilated pupils. They were suffocating.

Reason #11 why I don’t fly commercial, and haven’t since 1996 when TWA800 was shot down.
Nancy agrees.
Mass panic?
Sounds like it.
“Who had the fish?”
Frightening
Only rows 21 and 26 in economy class were affected. I’d start by sniffing around row 23. I’ve sat next to the same guy who was sitting in row 23 and I tell you, my eyes turned green, pupils dilated, I was suffocating, and thought I was going to puke.
Never order the fish
Mass panic?
Oh yes of course. That always causes dilated pupils, breathing problems and the face to turn green!!/S
This is nothing. They should have been on my school bus when I was in middle school, and had SBD.
Made me laugh out loud.
Does that make me a bad person?
We had a kid in boarding school that had his own recipe for what he called “formula X”... it worked too
At least it wasnt an A-380.
.
Neurotoxin.
Dilated pupils, supressed heart rate creating a sensation of difficult breathing.
Classic.
Here’s a theory. A group of reptilian aliens were traveling together on the flight. Cosmic radiation burned through the artificial skin revealing their natural green color, and causing their atmospheric converters to malfunction and them to suffer from nitrogen poisoning. And finally, the so called dilated pupils were their natural eyes showing.
But you’ll never read this in the mainstream media.
.
Why do we have to read it here?
.
If that is true I’ll slit my throat with Occam’s razor.
“I had the lasagna.”
Let the “Airplane!” references commence!
