Members of the "yellow vests" protest movement have vandalised almost 60% of France's entire speed camera network, the interior minister has said.

Christophe Castaner said the wilful damage was a threat to road safety and put lives in danger.

The protest movement began over fuel tax increases, and saw motorists block roads and motorway toll booths.

Some protesters feel speed cameras are solely a revenue-generating measure which takes money from the poor.

This sorta changes my mind . . a little. I say we give them a temporary visa to stage a protest against our speed cameras and then let them go back.

Now this is a smart move: cost the government money. That is the ONLY way to catch their attention, and to mold their behavior.

If they still don’t change, go after parking meters. Then assorted road signs that must be replaced. Then unattended government cars. Sooner or later, they’ll get the message.

Trouble is, vandalism lets the government, and their media pals, portray the Yellow Jackets as the bad guys - the opposite of the real situation.

Obviously it’s not an easy choice for them, but we should be very skeptical of news reports out of France that will now try to paint the YJs as violent Neo-Nazis. Just watch, Macron is desperate and will do anything to avoid going down.
