Still not on the top fundraiser list.
It appears to be taking donations again.
I asked , why one campaign could take donations and another couldn’t.
>>Dont they get a percentage of the money raised?<<
No. They charge an additional amount. So, if you donate like $80.00, they add a charge to that, the $80.00 goes to the cause.
They are claiming it has been resolved. But why would this processing issue be selective?

Donation Issues (Resolved) - US Customers
Update: Our payment processor is now back up and running smoothly. If you are still experiencing issues making a donation and/or receiving a donation receipt, please contact our Customer Happiness team.
Our payment processor is currently experiencing issues accepting donations for a majority of campaigns within the United States. We’re sorry for the inconvenience! Our team is working with our payment processor to promptly resume normal site activities and we will update this article with more information as we have it.
If your donation on the campaign page has not shown up, or you’re having trouble giving or receiving receipts, it is likely the result of this outage.

“there was a thread here on FR a few days ago, that seemed to indicate the funds CAN be used for the wall.”
That was just a lawyer saying that he could make an argument for it - not an authoritative source actually in the Government.
Congress would have to authorize it, as they have for other purposes, like building the Washington Monument or repairing the Statue of Liberty. HR 7207 was proposed to allow it, but it was never passed.
The fact that it can’t be used for the purpose for which it was raised, may be why they are choking off contributions. The founder of this GoFundMe said he would have an announcement this week about they could use the money.
STHU. Your ax grinding is annoying.
If you have the page up and are refreshing, every 1-5 minutes 6-8 donations are listed. Its been frozen for 2 hours now.
It was at $18,777,829 and 3 hours later its at $18,667,607. Thats a $1,222 difference! Are they going backwards now?
“STHU. Your ax grinding is annoying.”
The sting in any rebuke, is the truth in it. (Benjamin Franklin)
Who do you think that you are, to tell others to shut up? A totalitarian?
I looked at your posting history you have told us at least 50 times how this is not going to work ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. You are a troll.
Let’s start another one to pay BP agents during the shut down.
(1) It might be deliberate action on the part of GoFundMe, or
(2) Have you ever heard of Satan?
I just looked, it now says 18,806,386.
Recent donations are fine.
It is fine. Closing rapidly on the all-time record high fundraiser on GoFundMe, which is 22 million something, which ran for an entire year.
I am also seeing donations one minute ago.
It is now working fine.
I’d still want to be charitable and ask if there is something anomalous about the pattern of the donations that are being processed. If the web page is driven by a periodic batch job that uses database manager shortcuts, and the donations are coming in hot and heavy, the displayed result could well experience some temporary confusion.
Not every problem is calculated human conspiracy.
“Who do you think you are telling people not make the best political statement possible - with their money?”
If you actually look at it, I don’t tell people what to do. You made that up, but it sounds like you may have convinced yourself.
I just tell them the reality about the situation (use of donations requires Congressional authorization, and Congress has not authorized this purpose).
In response to simple facts, you reply “STHU” (all caps).
You don’t seem upset when untrue statements are posted about this like “DHS secretary has already cited the law allowing the donations to be applied to the wall” (post 20). DHS has an internal regulation to accept donations if legally allowed to. That is not a law. The law requires Congressional authorization to make it legal. They tried and failed to get Congressional authorization (HR 7207).
You seem not only willing, but eager to mislead people into spending their money under false pretenses - not that it is a political statement, but that it will actually build wall.
Beyond willingly people to be misled on this forum, you actively seek to censor the truth by harassing me, and telling me to shut up, and insulting me.
You should apologize.
“you have told us at least 50 times how this is not going to work”
I don’t say that either. It might work. There is just not currently a mechanism. A deal might be struck with Congress to allow it (But a Democrat House may make it less likely).
Several off budget mechanisms are possible, if Congress would authorize them. Sen Cruz famously proposed using asset forfeiture funds from drug cartels - the current prosecution of El Chapo (Shorty) Guzman might produce as much as $13 billion - and it would be a Mexican paying!
Congressman Byrne from Alabama (who may run for Jeff Sessions old Senate seat) proposed establishing a wall building fund of up to $25 billion total, which could have been funded by an assortment of non-appropriated means like fees, fines, forfeitures, tariffs, cost savings elsewhere in the budget, etc. Such a catch all approach could easily allow donations as well.
It really boils down to what kind of deal President Trump can manage, with so many forces lined up against him. I hope we will be pleasantly surprised. I expect that he will get some money to keep building this year, but I also expect that Dems will have people working overtime to block every possible other avenue for funding (like donations).
Bottom Line: It depends on if donations get authorized by Congress.
You should apologize for being a troll.
