Given the choice of living in Hitler’s Germany or Stalin’s USSR, which would you choose?
What difference was there between living in Hitler’s Germany and Stalin’s Soviet Union? I suppose if you were a religious Jew in Russia you were just repressed instead of exterminated. Then again up to what, 1939, you could leave Nazi Germany. Effectively they were two sides of the same socialist coin.

Stalin pretty much did the same things Hitler did.
Although a Georgian by birth, Stalin was a Russophile that gave preference to ethnic Russians, and demanded Russian be the official language of all Soviet Republics. Also ‘ethnic cleansing’ was widespread throughout the Soviet Union, under Stalin.
And Stalin’s “Socialism in One Country”, was no different than Hitler’s “National Socialism”.

Also why did the Communists use the term “Fascist” instead of “Nazi” to describe the Germans?
Mussolini was a “Fascist”.
Of course since Nazi was short for “National Socialist”, the Communists didn’t want to admit that the Nazis were fellow socialists.
Plus it makes it easier for Communists to describe anyone who opposes them as being a “Fascist”, and conveniently allows the Hitler tie-in, along with it.
For decades the Pinkos have turned history on its head, pretending that Communist mobilized to fight the Fascists when it was the other way around.
Of useful note also from the history of this time— the American communists (underground and their fellow traveler socialists).... ALL took instruction from the COMINTERN, and thus.. Stalin.
During the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, noted folk artists (musicians, WPA types, and red hollywooders) were all isolationists— “Keep the US out of the War”. That is— up until Hitler began the invasion of Russia (much to Stalin’s documented disbelief and fugue state reaction for weeks). THEN the word went out-— “support the US to take Soviet Russia in as an ally” literally overnight.
Thus, making the “war against nazis, and fascists (not the same thing, btw- mussolini distrusted hitler and vice versa— they were not the same systems)-— became the “GOOD” war.
Creating opportunities in the UK secret service for WWII Soviet “plant” agents to wreak havoc in the post-War period, to solidify the Comintern’s plans... and Stalin’s Reign of Terror. What a terrible waste— and all devolving from the removal of the Tsar by the Kaiser’s secret service with financing from Internationalists (like Henry Ford, Jakob Schiff, Warburg and many others, with affiliation with the City of London and The Bank of England- controlled by the Rothschilds since Waterloo).
