The train from Newark to Penn Station is great. 15 minutes or so, and you’re right in the heart of the city.

I really don’t like LaGuardia - stopovers is most of my experience there. Ipads have replaced food service folks - no questions about the food before you order.

Find out if LaGuardia is still being constructed.

You don’t want to fly southwest. You’ll never get there. You want to fly northeast or at least north or east depending on your starting point.

I was through LaGuardia last weekend. There’s massive construction going on there. I don’t think it affected us much, though.

The best way to see NYC is to drive straight through without stopping.

Newark is fine. If you have time you will never forget the Cloisters in the northern part of Manhatten.

Definitely LGA. Much closer to the city and less expensive to get there. Also, if you have an Amex Platinum, the Centurion lounge at LGA is fantastic.

It’s about an hour.... LGA is much closer.

Although it depends where he intends to go after he lands, exactly.

Questions about food in an airport?

It’s all gonna give you the runs.

LaGuardia has been under construction for at least the last 1,000yrs.

I always used Newark over JFK and LaGuardia, for both domestic and int’l flights, back in the 70s & 80s.

You don’t want to fly southwest.

You must be one of those 'flat earthers'. Us spheroidists know that if you fly southwest long enough you'll end up northeast.

Newark is probably your best bet. La Guardia is a pain to get to and from both by Land and Air.

What do you have the most interest in or like to do? There is way too much in NY for you not to have a plan. If you like the Arts, Museum, Broadway, or something Historical. Different approaches should be taken.

If you want to See that statue of Liberty, book early on line. There are very few limited passes to get above the pedistal and into the statue. Security is beyond tight there. Ellis Island is included in the tickets.

Most Art Museums are free, they have a recommended donation and you can elect to not pay. Food is great everywhere but be prepared to pay $$$. I would avoid the bus tours but that’s me.
