There was a conversation on the previous thread between Kalamata and greeneyes:

M. Pence is best “buds” with Flake & very close to Ryan. Remember during the campaign when he asked DJT for permission to leave the campaign trail so he could go campaign for Ryan. I don’t know too much about Karen. Future events should def. prove interesting!

I did a quick little dipsy do into Karen a little bit ago. I learned from Mr. Wiki Pedia that:

She was a teacher, and studied Education with a minor in Art. She was Valedictorian in high school.

She formed a Foundation while Indiana First Lady. It was disbanded after the Pence’s left the Governorship of Indiana.

Then I looked into that Foundation - but only a little bit.

I have learned to be nervous by Foundations which are overly concerned with “Thuh Chuldrun.” HOWEVER many wonderful people DO love children and ARE COMPLETELY in service to them. I hope fervently that Karen Pence is one.

The Foundation has a list of a little over 40 organizational recipients of funds dispersed in the following article. I examined 3 of them at random. They sound like very special and above the board facilities. But I did not look closely at who the individuals running them are. Perhaps later, if, Heaven forbid, we feel compelled to do so, we can do a deeper dive. I hope we don’t have to.

Some of the organizations listed include:
https://incacs.org/hollys-house/

1. Holly’s House -

“Holly’s House started as an idea in 2004. The idea was formed by a local sex-crimes detective, Brian Turpin. Det. Turpin was exposed to the concept of children’s advocacy centers at a conference and came back to Evansville determined to create a center for the community. As Det. Turpin championed this cause, he recognized that many centers are named after someone in their community. Thus, he connected with Holly Dunn Pendleton, a local survivor of a horrific crime involving an attack by a serial killer. Holly and Det. Turpin together formed a dynamic duo. Through their partnership Holly’s House was created and a capital campaign launched….”

2. BCH Inc

Mission
“At Baptist Children’s Home we bring hope to hurting and troubled children and families, striving to teach them how to live godly in spite of painful or seemingly unfair circumstances.

We provide this hope through group home and foster home care for children, Christian family and/or personal counseling, family life conferences, adoptive services and care for pre-born children. In short, if it affects the family, BCH is there to help.”

3. Early Childhood Alliance

“For more than half a century, Early Childhood Alliance has been providing programs and services to meet the needs of families and children, first in Fort Wayne/Allen County, and now across northern Indiana.

Today, Early Childhood Alliance is recognized as a leader in the early childhood care and education field. We are proud of our heritage and continue in our leadership role with families, early childhood professionals, and communities of northern Indiana. Early Childhood Alliance is committed to helping prepare children for success in school and beyond.”

Others from the list of a little over 40 organizations:

The Salvation Army Indiana
Best Buddies Indiana
Boys and Girls Clubs of Bloomington
Little Oaks Ranch, inc
Westminster Neighborhood Services inc
Young Men’s Christian Association of Indiana c/o Indiana Philanthropy
YWCA of Evansville IN

AGAIN, a lot of well meaning people can and do in all innocence donate to all of these organizations - all of which may or may not be on the up and up, in light of what we have been learning over the past year. So many of the charitable organizations we have trusted deeply have been shown to have betrayed us and the little ones they are intended to care for. [Can you say “Red Cross?” I knew you could.]

I have no negatives to report against Karen Pence. I offer these ONLY for people who wish to do their own research in these matters. I am hoping that the FReeQs who come from Indiana might know something about these particular charities and can debunk the unexpected negative scrutiny being placed on our 2nd Lady of late.

But… there is the matter of The Envelope. Why did she get one?

Maybe she was handing them out?

I would guess that maybe not all envelopes had the same content. Alternativ Lynn, they all had the same contents but seeing what was inside affected different people differently.

I don’t trust Pence.

I feel like he is to Trump what Bush the Elder was to Reagan.

I hope I’m wrong, but I’ve never been warm and fuzzy over that guy.

When I heard Mrs. Pence got an envelope the first thing I thought was “Hmm. Any foundations here?” I also remembered “Watch the wives.”

I don’t believe a deeper dig on them would be out of order.

One thing I have learned by looking into charities is that there often are not clear lines. Many illegitimate charities do legitimate work. That is, in fact, the best way to cover for the illegitimate stuff they are doing. They can point to all the good they do and claim that the child abuse or embezzlement was done by just a few people. And when they make those claims, they are correct.

But think about how you would set out to create an entity to indulge your desire to abuse. You couldn’t just abuse every kid that was involved because people would figure it out immediately. Instead, you would recruit decent people who really care about children and use that as a cover. I’m sure some kids really do benefit from these “charities” otherwise they would not exist for long.

Alternatively, another approach is to infiltrate a legitimate charity and use the access for your own evil purposes. So that happens, too.
