Walmart was a huge retailer when Amazon was an obscure online book store.

Walmart already had massive distribution centers and a logistics/supply chain supplying all their stores, including their own trucks, all while Amazon was slowed and hampered with having to develop their own infrustructure.

All Walmart had to do was push their online presence and invest develop their own delivery system and they’d have exploited a killer head start. That last part is no easy task, and it’s still a huge problem for Amazon, but Walmart dropped the ball a long time ago.

WM needs more items on its website order page. And today the site refused to let us pay for an order. Amazing! The site kept going around in a stupid loop. We love WM but today we were forced to take our business elsewhere. We hope WM gets improved and we csn return to them soon.

Baseball cards were #10 in 1970? That’s kind of bizarre.

Once upon a time, WalMart’s slogan was, “We buy American.” Then, Sam Walton passed away...

That photo is full of crap.

2017 - Kroger is ahead of Amazon??

Interesting. Since Kroger is a 112 Billion Dollar Company.

And Amazon is at 702 Billion.

Amazon is a fulfillment company.
I ordered some boxes of paper towels from Amazon and they showed up next day in Walmart boxes. That tells me that the most important thing to Amazon is to keep you at their website. That is the direction that Walmart has to go. They could in effect turn all those stores into their own post offices.

I really liked the Woolworths when I was growing up. Classic childhood memories.

And there is a Browns Shoe store in the next town over I have been using exclusively for the last 15 years at least.

I miss Meijers. (I know, they’re not gone, but I’m not in the Midwest, at the moment)

As for Wally World vs Bezos, I wish them luck. They’ve got some catching up to do.

If/when the day comes that I can look up my desired widget on WM.com and get 2 day delivery (with included tracking) for free on my order, it’s goodbye Bezos.

they got my money on Black Friday. The Walmart close to me even carries pelleted livestock feed and their online store has become comparable to Amazon without the membership fee - they have just about everything. Gotta admire their leadership.

Don't know what all this means but I've been purchasing numerous items from Walmart rather than Amazon due to the lower cost and free shipping.

And if a return is required, I don't have to mail it back, I just take it to a local Walmart.............Amazon can't match that.

It’s simple, really. Don’t hire misogamist, mad cows and drunken philanderers into management.

I still cannot see the value of Amazon. Not for shopping and not as an investment.

I can always, ALWAYS!!!, find whatever I need or want, at a lower price at Walmart stores or Walmart online. I haven’t had anything that I can buy at lower prices on Amazon. The only thing Amazon offers is convenience, but not lower prices. And, the convenience part is also now being offered at Walmart stores or Walmart online.

And, it’s not just Walmart that has Amazon beat for best prices and wider selections. Target too has Amazon beat on hundreds of items. Amazon just gets the headlines, which to a lot of people translates to lower prices.

I haven’t bought anything form Amazon in more than 5 years. The only association I have with Amazon is the Firestick I use for watching TV and movies. I use the firestick but I don’t pay for any of Amazon’s movie or TV offerings; I go for the free stuff, including Netflix which I get included with my cellphone plan.

Nope! Can’t see the hype. Yeah, I see the Amazon growth, but, their growth doesn’t mean that they are the better of the options out there.

I remember Zayre. There were a lot of those around my neck of the woods when growing up as well as Almy's, Bradlees, Ann & Hope and Caldor.

All gone now.
