I think it’s a good idea but we’ve all been guilty of sliding the thread at one time or another. (With the exception of our very polite lurkers.)

Agree that most of us have slid the thread. But I think there is a difference between chatting about our dogs and recipes or whatever because we are a social community vs. those who deliberately try to slide the thread to cut short a discussion of important topics.

I’m as guilty as anyone of going off topic, but my goal - and that of the good guys/gals here - is NOT to deliberately derail the discussion. Professional trolls do have that as a goal.
