CMS ^ | 11/20/18 | Stuart Caplan

As we have noted in earlier correspondence, this change is necessary to expand (public) beneficiaries’ access to preventive services

The drug also is very expensive, at nearly $1,676 for a 30-day supply,

The proposed recommendations are open for public comment until Dec. 26.

A small amount of taxpayer dollars goes to innocent moms and babies. A larger amount of money goes to senior citizens for end of life extension.

The increasing middle of taxpayer dollars to subsidize and enable poor lifestyle choices is what we must pay attention to. Why should the struggling innocent be force to subsidize and enable the lifestyle choices of others?

If you or your group has an opinion, send it to Stuart Caplan. cc White House, Senators, Congressmen, others as you think effective.

I *wish* one of the med's I needed was only $1,676 for a thirty day supply! Try $4,958 and that's for 28 days.

Before that disaster named 0bamacare, it was under $2k. Proof once again that everything the Government touches it drives the price of it sky-high.

It's simply amazing how the Commerce Clause has been expanded to encompass the known universe. If an Article V convention is ever called that clause needs to be defined to severely limit all the collectivist crude attached to it... and an easy mechanism to by pass and or remove the judges who try.

Believe me, getting old isn’t a lifestyle choice. Plus, I pay Medicare premiums and paid into Social Security when you were most likely in diapers.

Or, we could just enforce the Enumerated Powers clause.

The ‘Enumerated Powers clause’ has effectively been rendered mute by the 14th amendment. The Feds get to force states to provide equal treatment as defined by the whim of the Supreme Court rather than let the States run the show . The 14th was shoved down the throat of the South by not allowing representation in Congress until the Southern states voted to ratify it. It’s not, therefore , the same Constitution the Founders created and why the states need the chance to fix it.

We have to make it more expensive, before we can make it free.

To paraphrase Pelousy.

Thank you. The 14th is far overrated. As is “the North”.

This is still much cheaper than paying for treatment after someone gets HIV. This is clearly for individuals at high risk.

I am 75 and still living paycheck to paycheck. 1986-2012 the cost of government was 43-47% of my gross. It changed in 2012 because my personal economy collapsed that year and my gross has been much smaller since. But I made life choices that put me in my current state. At the current rate, I will not collect what I have paid in unless I live to be 113 or so. And that doesn’t count interest on what I have paid in.

But lifestyle choices are relative. People who choose alcohol, drugs, promiscuos sex, etc as a lifestyle cost the taxpayer far more than us “ordinary geezers”.

“senior citizens for end of life extension”

Is that a oxymoron, or do I just need more coffee?
