Yeah, I had no interest in seeing it.

“How it gets good reviews”

Easy. The creator says he needs a cast that “looks like America now”, and his casting call says “no whites”.

The show is praised for its “diversity”. Diversity = no whites.

Why wouldn’t it be popular?

We decided not to see Hamilton after the way the cast treated MIKE PENCE. Conservatives are probably forgetting about that incident.

Actually like it myself. Same with my extended family. Doesn’t seem anti US at all to me...

You might have checked it out before dropping the cash on tickets. It’s not like this just came out.

Outrage over Hamilton at this point is like being outraged at the use of midgets in The Wizard of Oz.

I am at a loss how anybody could possibly go to Hamilton without knowing exactly what they were going to here. I’ve got pretty much the entire show memorized.

Why would anybody throw hundreds of dollars at a ticket without having some clue that they might like the show?

You said..”I’ve got pretty much the entire show memorized.”

It takes me far less time to make a couple hundred dollars than it did for you to memorize the show....

I go to a lot of shows. Season tickets in our local venue and NYC Broadway shows.... Rarely do I see a show I do not like. I take my chances... this time I got burned. I share my opinion in the event there are any others who like me, had no idea what the show was like.

Anyone interested in Alexander Hamilton allow me to recommend Ron Cernow’s excellent biography. I had started this when my Father had bypass surgery years ago and then forgot about it.

Picked it back up last week and got right in where I left off. Amazing story, Hamilton dealt with a lot issues we seem to be dealing with now.

I don’t like that everyone now seems to reference the musical as actual “Truth”, rather than as a play loosely based upon historical figures.

As far as historical accuracy... the play was crap!

What are some historical inaccuracies in Hamilton (the Broadway musical)? https://www.quora.com/What-are-some-historical-inaccuracies-in-Hamilton-the-Broadway-musical

Actually it sounded like the Founding Fathers in Blackface...insulting to their memory and insulting to blacks. I passed.
