Here’s an earlier thread about Proposal 18-2:

I’m voting NO on all three proposals and Clement and Wilder for Supreme Court.

Easy way to remember who to vote for: Vote for the two judge candidates that have the title "Justice of Supreme Court" after their names.

No on 1, we don't need recreational Marijuana.

No on 2. we don't need a "random panel of voters" deciding how to redistrict our state. Like an impaneled Grand Jury, the clueless voters will become a rubber stamp for whoever presents the recommendations to them, without judicial recourse since this is a Constitutional Amendment that grants the panel exclusive authority for redistricting.

Proposal 3 has some good things: For example, I'm not opposed to straight party voting that the Republicans took away, and I'm for no-reason absentee voting. However, same day registration and voting is a very bad thing, as it doesn't make the ballot cast provisional. Therefore, anyone can register, vote, then disappear, and there is no way to cull out the illegal vote from the tally. Provisional ballots aren't counted unless the race is tight.

So for me, it's no on all three!

On the Michigan ballot for Supreme Court there are 6 candidates, you can vote for 2. However if you don’t look up beforehand there is no party affiliation to guide your decision. The candidates are:

Samuel Bagenstos NO

Megan Kathleen CavanaghNO

Elizabeth T. Clement Justice of Supreme Court YES

Doug Dern NO

Kerry Lee Morgan NO

Kurtis T. Wilder Justice of Supreme Court YES

In my research it appears that Clement and Wilder are the closest to being conservative. If you agree the easiest way to identify them on your ballot is they both have “Justice of Supreme Court” associated with their names, the others do not.

There are 3 proposals:

18-1: A proposed initiated law to authorize and legalize possession, use and cultivation of marijuana products by individuals who are at least 21 years of age and older, and commercial sales of marijuana through state-licensed retailers - NO

18-2: A proposed constitutional amendment to establish a commission of citizens with exclusive authority to adopt district boundaries for the Michigan Senate, Michigan House of Representatives and U.S. Congress, every 10 years - NO

18-3: A proposal to authorize automatic and Election Day voter registration, no-reason absentee voting, and straight ticket voting; and add current legal requirements for military and overseas voting and post-election audits to the Michigan Constitution. NO, due to same day. Same day = Hanky Panky

I personally never vote for more taxes or bigger government. All 3 will result in bigger government.

No, no and no, but my gut says they will all pass. Not looking forward to having more potheads on the roads.

Anybody who is a strong Second Amendment supporter should most definitely oppose Clement for another term. I reference(MOC\Herman v. Clio Area School District) where Clement voted with he majority against the 2A. She upheld school districts false claim that they are not a Government entity, have private property rights and can thus ban firearms on their property including those carried by CPL issued citizens.

Further evidence that Clement is not a true conservative is that the Teacher’s unions are endorsing her.

In her place on the ballot I would suggest voting for the Libertarian endorsed candidate, Kerry Lee Morgan, who is a supporter of the Second Amendment and will rule based on the law rather than feelings.
