Twenty years ago, Matthew Shepard was a "smart, funny" 21-year-old, no different than any other young man that age. He was an "ordinary kid who wanted to make the world a better place," his parents remembered. But in October 1998, that all changed, when the openly gay college student was abducted, beaten and tied to a fence in Wyoming. His life ended a few days later, and with it came a widespread awareness of the dangers that members of the LGBTQ community face every day. The homophobic brutal killing also served as a catalyst for progress in America's laws and culture.

The fact that the media is still talking about the death of a single gay men 20 years later speaks volumes of what a non problem violence against homosexuals is.
We all note that all of us capable of reading know that Sheppard was a drug dealer.

Thanks but your post seems to say that Dirkhising was murdered 20 years after the murder of Shephard, Jesse Dirkhising died Sept 26, 1999.
Dirkhising’s murder at the age of thirteen is far more of a horror story than the murder of Shephard but Dirkhising was a white teenager killed by two GAY men so of course it is ignored by the media. It is the most powerful proof of media bias that I am aware of.
After skimming and searching the article, I see no reason for this being posted in Breaking News (no mention of his ashes or the National Cathedral)...
