If the mother sets u pa Gofundme page over this, the kid will have a couple hundred grand in the bank in two weeks.
This kinda thing happens. I knew someone who threw a wedding shower for someone and invited everyone at their office. They all talked about it, “yeah yeah i..sure, I’ll be there”, etc. Then on the day of the party, NOBODY showed up.
Poor kid. And the more to the story could be he’s the flavor of the month in his class, etc.
Next time do the party at an indoor gun range! We did that a while back and had incredible attendance. And pizza too.
ditto
So sad......sigh......
Mehhh.....this reminds me of my daughter’s heart-breaking 14 year old birthday party. She wanted to handle everything herself (invitations), so we let her. We helped her with the decorations and the food. It was a DISASTER.
Out of about 15 friends she invited, exactly ONE showed up. One. It was a tear-filled nightmare for me and my husband. We could barely choke up the sobs in front of her.
To this day, 16 years later, we still beat ourselves up over this. Our painful lesson: the parents should handle the invitations, the RSVP’s, and the reminders. You literally have to be a (pushy) helicopter parent to make sure young people RSVP and that those who say they are coming actually show up. Having parents deal directly with parents as well as the invitees is needed. These days young people are REALLY RUDE when it comes to RSVP’s, actually showing up after they’ve RSVP’ed ‘yes’, etc.
Well....he’ll get coverage from local news at the Suns/Lakers game Wednesday
At least the SUNS stepped up...thumps up Suns..
I think a workplace situation is one think.
I don’t think it’s realistic for 32-out-of-32 kids to turn down pizza.
If three or four kids actually showed, I’d be more inclined to take it at face value.
It happens every rara now and then. Everyone one by one decides their absence won’t matter. Someone will also win the lotto tonight. No reason so far to doubt it that I can see.
Or mom screwed up and put the wrong date on the invitations. No way that out of 32 kids, NOBODY shows up.
None of the kids gave their parents the invitation until too late, perhaps?

One other reason to doubt it is the parent is using the internet for pity-fishing.
I suspect she doesn’t have a phone number or email for all the kids in his class. She probably doesn’t even know the names of all the kids in his class. That’s why the invitations were given out during school hours.

I mean, the kid is six. Mom/Dad has to take change on stuff like that and make sure it all comes off.
I think this is an old article. I remember reading something like this a year or two back.
Yeah, you’ve said about 2 times that kids don’t turn down pizza. But they do, if it’s with the “stinky kid” in class. Everyone has seen a kid that for some reason, the class turns against. They sit alone at lunch, last picked for the team, etc. The parents usually don’t know either.
Mom very likely sent invitations to the class, and had no clue.
Unbeknownst to me, my daughter stood up at show and tell and invited her entire 2nd grade class to her birthday party. Almost all of them showed up. Her teacher notified me. She’s a born leader and people magnet. If I had done that, I would have been that lonely little kid sitting by himself.
Agree.
I have no idea if this story is legit, or not....but....that pic made my screen a little blurry :-(
loser.
Told my Mom at church last Sunday; “I’m sure glad you didn’t have facebook when I was growing up!”
