The father of Frank Zappa worked in Los Angeles with friends of the family. I always had his albums and never listened to them. Too confusing. Van Halen changed everything in 1980.

Dweezil, Moon Unit, Ahmet and Diva. And Johnny Cash thought being named "Sue" was tough!
The greatest Zappa moment of all time was when he performed "I'm the Slime" on SNL. Just as Zappa gets to the line in the chorus, "Don't touch that dial,..." green slime really does start pouring from the monitors on the sides of the stage.
Or maybe the greatest Zappa moment was when he was playing Montreaux in '71 and he telepathically commanded a fan to shoot a flare gun into the ceiling and set the place on fire.
