Foxs Last Man Standing revival premiered on Friday night to 8 million total viewers and a 1.8 demo rating, improving greatly upon its previous premiere on ABC (6 mil/1.1) as well as its Season 6 average (6.9 mil/1.2).
In fact, LMS delivered its best rating since its Season 2 opener on ABC (which did a 2.0), and led Fox to its highest rated Premiere Week Friday in seven years and its most watched Friday in nine-and-a-half years.
Leading out of that, The Cool Kids retained 6.8 mil and a 1.5. Hells Kitchen (3.1 mil/0.9) matched its previous premiere and season average.
Over on CBS, MacGyver (5.8 mil/0.7) returned up a tenth from its May finale/series low, though down a tenth from its Season 2 average. Hawaii Five-0 (7.4 mil/0.9) was up sharply from its May finale, but off a tenth from its Season 8 average. Blue Bloods (8.7 mil/0.9) returned steady.
Facebook will ban all reference to Last Man Standing.
I watched on Twitter early, but still recorded and watched it live, just to give the eyballs rating
My Millenial son loves this show, as does his wife. Glad to see its doing well! And an in your face to the network that dropped it!
A lot of people watched the premiere, commercial free courtesy of LMS producers, on Twitter last weekend. So the ratings could have possibly been higher.
OMG...the show is so funny...and the setting is pretty realistic. We can all relate.
Congrats to Fox for reviving it. And I didn’t even realize Hell’s Kitchen was still a thing - I might have to tune in to see Gordon throw a few pans.
I watched on Twitter a few days ago, and then again last night; I wanted it to help the ratings.
Good show. I had heard that Allen’s political bent was going to be very toned down on Fox. It wasn’t.
The Cool Kids was funny, except for the homosexual little guy. Having had parents and friends in retirement communities, it was funny how they made that so real. Produced by same as LMS, I noticed. “Nest Egg” or something.
LMS has that wonderful last little bit of discussion. It’s great!
I only watched a minute on Twitter...the first 45 seconds were hilarious! I love the way their writers brought out funny cameos from Tooltime during the main run, then how they seriously tweaked ABC in the revival opener.
I may have to give up my self-imposed boycott of all things Hollywood to watch it.
The actress that played Mandy will be missed. What a huge mistake on her part.
It was pretty funny the way they introduced the new Mandy. Wow, something is different.
Mocking the SJW suits at ABC was priceless.
Both actors named “Molly”.. I find that really strange.
I am sure murphy brown spent a good bit of time taking shots at President Trump.
LMS spent time talking about how the left’s tantrum is tearing up families. Of course the opening’s broad wink at the audience — as a well as a few in the episode — was great!
I read somewhere that after the LMS was cancelled, Mandy’s actress went out and got another job, with a contract that she couldn’t get out of. So when LMS came back, she was stuck.
I loved the way they made fun of the previous network for dropping them and praised all the loyal fans for helping to bring it back on a new network.
His dialogue at the end where he talks about respecting others opinions but does say only one side has the word “right” built right into it. Good comedy. We need more like that. Too bad the asshats got rid of Rosanne. There’s a special place in hell for those people.
I agree it was a good show. I really liked the jokes about moving to Fox and the new Mandy. But she was the one thing I did not like about the show. She was not good compared to her predecessor who was one of the comedic actors on the show.
Also I didn’t like Kyle’s new do. Longer hair suited his character better.
I watched it and it was great. I liked his show before and I really like it now. They opened with a discussion about how weird it was that a show was cancelled by idiots and put on another network. That never happens! LMAO!
Here is something I posted on a thread 1-2 days ago.
It points out the viewership of the networks.
CBS has an almost 70% lead over Fox, you would think that would buoy Murphy Brown.
Fox has a much smaller viewership, and yet more people tuned in to watch LMS.
TOTAL VIEWER RANK NETWORK 2017 VIEWERS
1...........CBS..........7,996,000
2...........NBC..........7,284,000
3...........ABC..........5,592,000
4...........Fox............4,733,000
5...........Fox News .2,423,000
Murphy Brown on SeeBS already starts with a 69% lead in network viewership over Fox
Just from demographics, it shouldn’t be close
Murph Brown was never funny.
Glad to see LMS is back. So few funny shows
out there for me on regular TV.
I stayed up late at night just to watch the newer LMS re-runs.
