Both a Senator and K said today during the hearing that there was no statute of limitations on what he was accused of doing.
Is that true?
Is that particular to Maryland?
Because IIRC, there have been a boatload of cases where rapists have escaped prosecution due to the statute of limitations running out. I especially recall this in many cases involving children. By the time they are adults and emotionally able to deal with the issue, they had no legal recourse. Also, wasn’t that also an issue with some of the Bill Cosby accusers?
That said, it is true for the state of Maryland. It is a matter of state law and varies state to state.
