One season after The Year of The Quarterback in college football, the 2018 season began with a muddled quarterback class. There were solid players like Missouris Drew Lock, West Virginias Will Grier, North Carolina States Ryan Finley, Auburns Jarrett Stidham and Oregons Justin Herbert. But no superstars that threatened a class that saw five first-round picks in the 2018 NFL draft. One-third of the way through this college football season, its becoming increasingly apparent that the countrys best two quarterbacks may be two first-year starters. Alabamas Tua Tagovailoa and Ohio States Dwayne Haskins have beelined to the top of the 2018 quarterback class in college football, keeping their teams entrenched in the top five and wondering if anyone in their respective leagues can slow them down.

Go Army
Army beating Oklahoma would have been one of those hundred-year flood plain sort of events I would have been so happy to see. My favorite college game of all time (not involving my Alma mater) was when Boise State beat the Sooners in OT in that Fiesta Bowl a few years ago.
Alabama seems to be in a class by themselves this year, but it will probably take until the LSU game to see how much. Tua as a starter has yet to play a 4th quarter, unlikely that’ll happen next week.
I enjoyed watching TTU pummel OSU. First time in nine years.
Great game by Army taking the Sooners to OT.
And how about Old Dominion beating Va Tech?! Unbelievable.
Why, 'Bama is on the skids...period.
Just listen to his Announcing Excellency, the Honorable Gary Danielson, who stated that A&M had "stopped 'Bama in their tracks"...and two plays later, 'Bama did stop, by scoring a TD.
That asshat is so full of crap.
I celebrated when that little Toad, Lundquist retired...now I'm just waiting for that cretin Danielson to get the hell out.
The most interesting results from yesterday IMO,
- Nebraska got utterly crushed at Michigan
- Kentucky decisively beat Mississippi State
- Stanford looks like the best team in the PAC even though they barely escaped against Oregon. Washington looks like their only real competition.
- Clemson’s freshman QB is really good.
- Bama is unstoppable. Tua is a top notch QB and they’re simply going to steamroll everybody else.
- Ohio State looks like the class of the Big 10 with only Penn State offering any real threat to knock them off their perch.
- Florida peeled Tennessee in a game many were predicting the Vols to win. Tennessee’s next 3 are against Georgia, Auburn and Alabama. Ouch.
- Georgia’s Defense looked vulnerable against Mizzou.
- Oklahoma got taken to overtime by Army. Yeesh.
- The best teams are Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State and Stanford/Washington winner maybe? Oklahoma maybe?????? Regardless, the 4th playoff team will be a sacrificial lamb.
At half-time all the analysts were saying whats wrong with Alabamas defense. They had given up over 100 yards on the ground to A&M and their offensive line was not opening up any holes for their running backs. What was wrong? Nothing. Adjustments at half-time. Texas A&M in the second have had negative yards rushing, and their quarterback who was finding holes in the defense and had over a 100 yards in the first half, ran into a stonewall in the second half had no second half rushing yards. The Alabama rushing game also came alive. I see no team beating Alabama this year, The defense is rebuilding and theyll be fine and Tua is the best quarterback Saban has ever had. He might be the best quarterback in the country.
Buffalo beat Rutgers?? As someone said on tweet, UConn and Rutgers should play a game, loser disband their team, winner stay in the Big 10...
Rutgers should schedule Bergen Catholic H S next year.
Alabama at LSU, Saturday night November 3rd in Baton Rouge should be a classic, if LSU can remain undefeated before that game.
Nobody is beating Alabama this year.
They might be even more dominant that the 1995 Nebraska team.
So Army takes Oklahoma to OT, and Navy loses to lowly SMU.
I think we know who is winning Army-Navy this year.
I feel a lot better now about losing to Kentucky, they are legit. I think they have a shot against Georgia.
And Central Florida’s win streak is now 16.
Not an upset, but the Iowa vs.Wisconsin game last night was a great game to see. Classic Big Ten slugfest.
With a backup quarterback to boot.
Bergen Catholic might beat team....as I said before...the Big 10 thought Rugters would be good? We (UConn) might not have FB history, but we’d bring great basketball teams and Olympic sports to the conference.
