Grossly has allowed Ford lawyer to control this by moving the goal posts and running the clock out.

Not a chance nor do I think he should.

Has no Balls and should be ridiculing the Press and the Democrats for pushing this attack on our Justice System. No Balls.

When he emerges victorious next week with a newly minted Associate Justice on the Supreme Court can I remind you of this thread?

NO. He’s being magnanimous because he knows something we don’t. He knows that Blasey-Ford can’t/won’t appear.

I believe she simply is a manufactured hoax and not even a real person. Note - she has never appeared in public, and no one has seen her, talked with neighbors, etc... even her “letter” is still secret.

Or she may be real, but so far from the public story, Grassley knows it doesn’t hurt to play the nice guy.

Anyway, it will all be over Monday, and the MSM will start with some new story to manipulate us.

Senators are pretty intent on DYING out of office. He will not step down or retire.

He’s doing fine. For one thing, he may not have the votes in the committee to get Kavanaugh approved right now. Secondly, stringing this out makes Buzzy Ford and her lawyers look more ridiculous by the day.

Pretty sure it is McConnell’s doings and not Grassley.

I think he knows that she has basically lost her nerve and her handlers are trying to talk her into going forward. Ballsy knows that she doesn’t have the goods on Kavannagh and is now trying to get out of it.

Playing it for all he can. Tough to beat media where this has morphed from clumsy groping to rape.

Senator Grassley is handling this the right way.
I believe that Kavanaugh will be on the Supreme Court by October 1st.

We need to see how this plays out.

One thing (amongst many) that Trump has shown the GOP leadership is the value of thinking strategically. There have been many times where an action of Trump’s doesn’t always seem a wise move at the time, but days/weeks/ months later we see it was a masterstroke.

My hunch is he knows Ford is a liar and is giving her the rope to hang herself without having to dirty his own hands

He’s the typical country hayseed trope we love to send to DC.

Gotta “protect” the waymens from themselves at all costs, right?

And that’s what we get, a softy old hick giving the crying gal extra time to bullsh*t because “her honor”.

Grassley is doing fine. He is building a record to defend against accusations that he tried to stifle her from testifying. He knows she doesn’t want to testify. That’s why he’s giving her concessions, multiple extensions, and “I want to hear your testimony”. He’s giving her rope so she can hang herself.

As bad as this is, we are stuck with him for the present. Him stepping down would just introduce more chaos and not only would the Kavanaugh nomination fail, but so would other judicial nominations. He has handled this terribly IMO; what is the latest - 5 extensions? Each extension makes the GOP look weaker and hurts the November elections, but what is the alternative?

I think Grassley fears that Sens. Flake & Collins might not vote to confirm if the hearing doesnt happen. We have a razor-thin majority, 1-vote. Id have to say that the 3 or 4 Dems that were leaning for Kavanaugh are probable no-votes now.

How many of you agree that Senator Grassley should step down because of his continued incompetence?

If not Grassley, it would be some other equally incompetent old fart. He’s in his mid 80’s...might as well let him go out with a wheeze before he can screw up something else.

Perhaps, but if you go down the remaining GOP members for legal experience and competence....other than Ted Cruz Robb Portman, and Orrin Hatch, it’s a marginal group.
