The Russian Ministry of Defense says they ‘detected’ the milliles coming from French warships in the Mediterranean. I assume in 2018 they have the technology to do that.
What evidence is there that Syria is responsible?

Iraelis were conducting air raids in the area and had given only a minute’s warning That seems rather generous if you ask me.
No warning gives the attacking aircrews a better chance of success.
