A warmer world makes hurricanes wetter and more intense [barf]
Associated Press ^ | Sep. 14, 2018 7:01 PM EDT | Seth Borenstein

A warmer world makes for nastier hurricanes. Scientists say they are wetter, possess more energy and intensify faster.

Their storm surges are more destructive because climate change has already made the seas rise. And lately, the storms seem to be stalling more often and thus dumping more rain.

Study after study shows that climate change in general makes hurricanes worse. But determining the role of global warming in a specific storm such as Hurricane Florence or Typhoon Mangkhut is not so simple — at least not without detailed statistical and computer analyses.

The Associated Press consulted with 17 meteorologists and scientists who study climate change, hurricanes or both. A few experts remain cautious about attributing global warming to a single event, but most of the scientists clearly see the hand of humans in Florence.

Global warming didn’t cause Florence, they say. But it makes the system a bigger danger. …

Future headline...
“ ‘Climate Change’... blamed for weakness of hurricanes”
Why not? ‘Climate Change’ can do anything!

If the weather is warm, cool or whatever- ‘Climate Change’ did it.

What bullshit.

They can’t crow over the fact that Florence didn’t hit as a Cat4 so they fallback to it’s a rainmaker.

It’s only a rainmaker BECAUSE IT STALLED, YOU STUPID DEMOCRAT MEDIA!

ALL HURRICANES ARE RAINMAKERS!!!!!!

Had a tropical storm hit Orlando twice a few years ago. Hit FL, went up the coast a little, stalled and came back. Second time around it stalled.

24 inches of rain from a NON-HURRICANE!!!!

After the 2006 hurricane season there were billboards in Orlando that blamed George Bush for all of the hurricanes because he ignored Global Warming.

And then no more hurricanes came.

and not more extreme weather events either, says the great Roy Spencer:

Former NASA scientist Dr. Roy Spencer says that the number of major hurricanes making landfall in the U.S. has actually fallen since the 1930s.

If,and that is a big “if”, it is warmer, it is because of the sun. It can do that. Duh.

If the oceans have only risen 2 millimeters in decades, that won’t make the storms any stronger, wetter, etc.

Borenstein is a hoax at science. he regurgitates other peoples’ work, predictions, foolish utterances, etc.

He is to weather as an alchemist was to gold making.

Are these the same people who predicted that we would now be living in an ice age? I think they are. Is their goal to fleece people of their money to go toward this made up idea about why we have the hurricanes and other weather events we always have had? Remember folks, “Climate change, global warming, etc.” are the claims of the political left. Everything in life and nature goes in waves and our weather does, too. The difference now is that media industries have grown up around the weather and the talking heads have to have something new to talk about to keep the money and interest going. Add to that the houses and businesses which have grown up around our shores which never should have been in those places to experience the wrath of the hurricanes which have always been a part of nature and always will be as long as this planet exists. The big money interests (think Al Gore) will always be with us and will always look for new “Elmer Gantry” ideas and products to sell to the gullible public.
