According to global warming models that I have read about, if the planet warms, the increase in temperature will not be uniform. It will be proportionally higher at higher latitudes. Areas close to the poles will experience the most warming, and areas close to the equator less. If the global warming models are correct, polar ice should decrease, but the tropics should not get much warmer.
If you accept that premise (which I do not, but am discussing for the sake of argument),then the temperature difference between the poles and the tropics will be proportionally lower. It is that temperature difference that drives major weather systems, and a lower relative temperature difference means weaker tropical storms, not stronger ones. If we really had stronger, more destructive storms (which we haven’t, just more people and infrastructure on the coasts, which leads to bigger damage costs), then that would be evidence AGAINST global warming.
Ban summer.
And a week or so ago, Weather Underground said a warmer world would result in more hurricane-killing wind shears....
Well since the world is not getting warmer we won’t have to worry
Thanks for the link. Dr. Spencer should be careful, the true believers will want to burn him at the stake.
Now that’s funny, I don’t care who you are. :)
