Waffle House is stepping into action ahead of Hurricane Florence.

Just as in previous storms and severe weather, the restaurant chain typically remains open. The latest hurricane is no different.

“The ⁦@WaffleHouse⁩ Storm Center is activated and monitoring #Florence,” the restaurant tweeted Monday. “Plan ahead and be safe.”

And the WaHo Storm Center is real, according to Waffle House. The photo was taken at the Norcross, Georgia, -based chain’s corporate office.

I’m half-convinced that Waffle Houses would be open following a nuclear exchange or after a sudden plague that befell parts of the US.

“Norcross, Georgia, based chain’s corporate office”

Yep, that sounds about right.

I wish we had these in the West. Nothing beats Waffle House. Chick fil’A is close.

Agreed. Whenever I get down to the southeast, I always stop at a Waffle House. Almost always had a good meal.

Let’s face it: Waffle House is an iconic American restaurant. Even if you do have to clean the silverware yourself!

I serviced some of their signs in Ctrl FL. Gawd those things were high. Had an 85’ ladder truck extended all the way to do one. Got woozy from the heat on one climb. Not a good feeling being 70+ feet in the air.

We don’t. The West is culturally bankrupt.

Ummm, you have Jack In The Box.

Jack In The Box is culturally iconic too.

Probably a good place to make a stand during the Zombie Apocalypse. Those events always have a fight in a restaurant kitchen.

I guess. Barely. In-n-Out is culturally iconic.

Jack in the Box is just expensive. It’s good food, but expensive. Especially shakes.

Ivar’s is iconic in Seattle. So is Kidd Valley.

And that’s it.

The culture’s in the East.

Little known fact: W.B. Johnson was one of the founders of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel chain. He was also one of the largest, if not the largest, Waffle House franchisees at the time.
