I can’t remember the last time I saw Winesaps in a store. Used to eat them all the time when I was a kid. Golden Delicious was my favorite back then, but they’re always mushy now.

Golden Delicious are crunchy if eaten within a week or two of harvest. The worst offender for mushiness is Red Delicious. I can't eat them. They are gross with a weird taste. Yuck.

I didn’t look to where you live but up here in NY/NJ we can get Winesaps on a regular basis - in decent grocery stores, not the usual Stop & Shop.
