I can’t disagree with a word you have written. Knowing that our country was once exceptional and how much we wanted to will a prosperous and peaceful nation to our children makes this so difficult to accept.
I truly thought we were different. I truly thought that every American, and especially those elected to high office or appointed recognized the wonderful gift our Founders gave us and would never do anything to sully our country.

I feel exactly the same. God gave us a wonderful gift and too many squandered it away. Too bad some of us have to suffer the consequences.
We hear about our founding Fathers being upset with the bad people and they would come back and take care of them. I think the first thing our Founding Fathers would do would be to take us all to the woodshed for letting it get to this point.
